I'm attempting to fill in the abilities and rotation tab, but do I just guess the numbers? Do I put them in a new order? What kinds of numbers is it asking for? Would I pull these from a log?

On the 'Abilities' tab, all that is required is to select which abilities you plan to use (i.e. the buttons you think you will press at some point in your rotation). Simply use the drop-down lists in the yellow column to pick the abilities or other actions, like the use of a relic or adrenal. All the information in non-yellow cells will fill in automatically as you make your selections:

Note that ability names that start with an asterisk (e.g. *Cluster Bombs) are not actually buttons you would press (these are procs or other effects that trigger automatically from other abilities), so you don't need to include them in your list.

If you used the auto-fill spec buttons at the bottom-right of the 'Character' tab, then this list will automatically be filled in with an appropriate set of abilities. (If you switched from Sniper to Gunslinger or vice-versa, you'll have to click the auto-fill button again to bring in the appropriate ability names.) You can change the list yourself, of course, if you want to try abilities like Overload Shot, for example.

On the 'Rotation' tab, there are two areas that you can fill out.

The first is the Initial Conditions section, in which you can define starting conditions for the fight you intend to model. The default values are pretty typical for starting out a fresh fight, but you can type different values in the yellow cells if you want to try starting with 20 energy, for example. Hover over each column header (the cells with little red triangles in the corner) to see what each column is for.

Next, you'll start filling out the action sequence by using the drop-down lists in the yellow column to choose your next action, line-by-line. As you select an action, the priority number (P#) will fill in automatically just to the left of your selection, and the spreadsheet will perform 3 validity checks to make sure the selected action is one that can actually be performed (it's off cooldown, it's usable, and you have enough energy).

The damage, elapsed time, and net energy gain/loss is calculated just to the right of that, and the cooldown tracking columns (off to the right) as well as the next row's initial conditions columns will update to prepare you to select the next action in the sequence.

I hope that helps!
