RE: Guardian/Juggernaut - Focus/Rage DPS
lol Skroting - I feel what you mean. Ok, so our numbers in generally probably won't be THAT much lower than before, but they're going to be lower. I'm just saying that when your rotations are tight, you are running with 0 seconds in between global cooldowns, over a long 15 minute match - getting 3 seconds added to all our force abilities will hurt.
With regards to Soresu, that's one of the things I'm going to start getting used to. As far as my Ranked WZs team, my role will probably be as a Tanky DPS rather than straight DPS as I run in pub stomps now. These days, my friends and I queue up and just race each other for big numbers on the post-match score screen lol, but in Ranked WZs, I will likely be in Soresu form and protecting our healer - burning enemy DPS trying to take him/her down. When you get into more competitive PvP, you will LOVE combat focus. Please please please have it on a quick hotkey! If you missed Taugrim's key-binding guide I linked, the movement keys I use on my left hand are W and R for strafing and that's it. If you look at the screenshots I have posted, you can see my key binds. They've worked pretty well for me to date, and the only thing I would move around is probably my defensive cooldowns and my relic/adrenal (for these, I'm really unhappy with where they are as I have to do a lot of finger moving, but everytime I try to remap them I get too frustrated as I've had the same key bindings for over two months now). With regards to 20% armor reduction in Shii-cho: Force Sweep is a Force attack that does Kinetic damage Armor provides mitigation against Energy and Kinetic attacks (NOT Elemental and Internal) http://www.torhead.com/ability/bMa05Y4/force-sweep http://taugrim.com/2012/01/19/understand...ks-in-pvp/ Name drop that Juggernaut and when I see him in Ranked WZs, I'll screenshot our match I love meeting other Guardians/Juggernauts who are at the top of their game. With regards to high damage on the post-match screens... keep this in mind. When you are doing the kind of damage I expect of each and every one of you reading my guide and pushing yourself to become a top PvP competitor, realize that you will never be able to break the high digits that some people post. The reason is that you kill too hard. You do so much damage and melt too many faces that enemy healers don't have a chance to keep their team up. Also, you should be killing said healers, lol. We're looking for bone-crushing numbers and gray names - the post-match numbers are all secondary. It's easier for healers to keep people up through the DoTs of Vigilance/Vengeance, but put 5-7k damage on 3+ targets every 10 seconds... good game. Jeanne, I must say I loved your guide for Juggernaut Rage. Will you make a Marauder Rage guide too?

No, because although there are several similarities, I don't believe I could do the differences justice. I do however have a good friend who plays a Rage Marauder. Convincing him to put the time into producing a guide worthy of publishing on this awesome forum will be hard, heh. The admins here have done a great job at creating a PvE section for guides on all the classes, but as far as PvP guides go, it looks like I'm all we've got so far, heh. I really hope more people step up to try to get guides published here, so we can get a lot of action on this PvP forum. Knowing that people like you will be reading and using my guide gives me the encouragement to keep it up to date and make sure it's both accurate and useful

This guide is awesome. But To me the rotation is only filled with > > > > and when told about abilities they're just empty brackets like []. I've tried different browsers, Inspected the elements.
Are they supposed to be empty? |

I've tried different browsers, Inspected the elements. The problem is due to a bug :/ There are abilities there with a [ tip ] [ /tip ] tag around them, so when the [ tip ] feature works correctly, you can mouse-over the ability name and you can see the ability tooltip. The admin broke it but he's fixing it asap! It was working a week or so ago...In the meantime, here are the quick rotations until the [ tip ] tags are working Rotation 1 - Nuke - "Open a Can of Whoop-booty" Guardian []Saber Throw[/] > []Force Leap[/] > []Force Exhaustion[/] > []Sundering Strike[/] > Relic/Adrenal > []Force Sweep[/] > []Blade Storm[/] Juggernaut []Saber Throw[/] > []Force Charge[/] > []Force Crush[/] > []Sundering Assault[/] > Relic/Adrenal > []Smash[/] > []Force Scream[/] Rotation 2 - Nuke - "Kill The Healer" (I'm getting too creative here...) Guardian []Force Stasis[/] > []Force Push[/] > []Force Leap[/] > []Force Sweep[/] > []Saber Throw[/] []Force Kick[/] them in the jaw as appropriate. Juggernaut []Force Choke[/] > []Force Push[/] > []Force Charge[/] > []Smash[/] > []Saber Throw[/] []Disruption[/]... them in the jaw as appropriate? RE: Guardian/Juggernaut - Focus/Rage DPS
Hi Jeanne.
I found this listing of yours to be most interesting, so much that I've begun leveling a Juggernaut myself. But I've got one simple question.. ![]() You say that you and Hothgor changed your Skilltree, but with the details that you've explained it, it can not be changed. "We decided to pull one point out of Insight and reduce the Force Critical chance of abilities from 6% down to 4% in order to get a cheaper slow." It's not possible to remove 1 pt from Insight and place it in Gravity, as you are lacking in lower-tier points before Gravity. To be able to put 1 pt in gravity, I need to remove a point from the Immortal or Vengeance tree. If you could be so kind and clear my head on this, I'd appriciate it very much.

RE: Guardian/Juggernaut - Focus/Rage DPS
Yeah... lol so I'm glad you reminded me about this! When he and I were talking about it - were were looking at our trees without actually respec'ing. I realized later when I respec'd that the points were short. I updated my guide as we were chatting so I wouldn't forget, and then I forgot to fix it when I found out it wouldn't work.
However, I find that the Gravity point is too clutch, and I ended up pulling a point out of Sundering Throw. The only reason I chose Sundering Throw is because we lose the ability completely in 1.2... so I decided to gimp myself ahead of the patch in order to prep for it. It's not optimized, but to be honest, we're all just waiting on 1.2. With regards to the 1.2 update to my guide, I hopped on the PTS and started working on it, but queues weren't popping enough for me to test it. However, I'll be sure to update it as soon as possible after 1.2 releases and we get out there for some field testing! Thanks again for the call out Denzoh! This guide is only half effective without all of you Guardians and Juggernauts out there to work it

RE: Guardian/Juggernaut - Focus/Rage DPS
No trouble Jeanne! It's after all why I came here, to learn and adapt!
Can't wait to see how we're changed in 1.2, but I'm hoping for less of a nerf then some classes appear to get. *chuckle* |
