Sorcerer DPS BIS discussion
So I started fiddling around with potential BIS setups tonight, and I came up with a set that based on the stat weights (and gear limitations) I believe represents the maximum possible dps potential for 13/28. Simc profile (yes, I just put all the stats on the shirt slot):
Code: #!./simc This represents a 2.1% dps increase over the current import setup for 13/28. This is the profile I used. Changes compared to the current import setup:
The chestpiece change results in 10 additional Willpower, as the Master's version uses the Force-Wielder's Armoring instead of the higher-Willpower Resolve Armoring. The bracers and belt change is based on the fact that the Stalker's Waistwrap and the Force-Master's Bracers trade 26 Crit or Power (respectively) for 18 Willpower. This would require Crit or Power to have a comparative value of no higher than 0.692 (normalized to willpower = 1). At equilibrium (where Power or Crit have nearly-equal values), both have nearer to 0.85-0.90 values, making the lower Willpower (but higher Crit/Power) versions better. All of the mod slots use the Advanced Aptitude Mod 25 (+29 Endurance, +48 Willpower, +37 Power) per recent discussion regarding the 25A and 25B models in the Madness thread. The choice of only power, along with the enhancement selection below, results in Power and Crit having nearly equal scaling values. Set uses 4 Advanced Quick Savant Enhancement 25's (+24 Endurance, +37 Power, +51 Alacrity) and 2 Advanced Adept Enhancement 25's (+24 Endurance, +37 Power, +51 Surge), resulting in Surge and Alacrity having nearly equal scaling values. Total buffed stats (not including a stim) are as follows: Willpower: 1771.6 Endurance: 1541.4 Force Power: 1224 Power: 563 Alacrity: 252 Crit: 226 Surge: 255 Bonus Damage: 803.6 Crit Chance: 30.10% Crit Multiplier: 73.77% Activation Speed: 8.01% Normalized scaling values: Willpower: 1.1591 Crit: 1.0438 Power: 1.0000 Surge: 0.4191 Alacrity: 0.3940 Can anyone find anything practical to improve upon this? Even Angels must kill from time to time...

Simc profile (yes, I just put all the stats on the shirt slot): First thing I've noted is that the way you are entering your gear doesn't pick up the set bonuses. To get those I've just used the lines Code: head=rakata_force_masters_headgear,stats=44endSecond, the Pilot's Belt, or any other moddable belt should be a major upgrade. I have a Force Wielder armor mod, coupled with an Advanced Aptitude Mod 24 out of my old Columi chest, and that represents a significant upgrade over my Rakata Force-Master's Sash, picking up the Rakata Tier mod would be even better - +14 Willpower I think (armor +51 mod +48, total 99 Willpower, vs 85 in the tier belt). On another topic, with the same input in 114-3 as 114-2 my DPS skyrocketed from 1296 in 114-2 to 1540 in the newest release. I haven't had time to see what different and sadly work beckons but is this correct and the old version was to low? or is the newest version reporting something wrong. |

I know the profile I used was topping out at 1604, compared to the 1571 the default profile was at. I assumed I simply had some setting somewhere drastically different that y'all. I'll check out the belt (and by extension, likely the bracers as well). Same thing with the set bonuses. Even Angels must kill from time to time...

RE: Sorcerer DPS BIS discussion
Simulationcraft now use a boss armor value of 35% instead of the previous 50%.

RE: Sorcerer DPS BIS discussion
Using a Mr. Robot profile is a good idea, here is a start at the list http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/b9...d93e0f329. Kor I could not load your linked profile in the first post, but the one at the bottom of the page works.
This profile is using custom bracers/belt with Rakata mods since that is better than normal items. I changed a few of the crit/alacrity enhancements to Advanced Adept (56) from IA helm/gloves. TExpert Nano-Optic Resolve System [Mastercraft] is better than the Stalker Implant. Total buffed stats (not including a stim) are as follows: Willpower 1792 Power 606 Alacrity 25 Crit 225 Surge 284 Bonus Damage 818.4 Critical Chance 30.18% Critical Multiplier 74.79% Activation Speed 8.20% Ashstorm - Sorcerer http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/8a...f065cdb66b Ashtech - Powertech http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/86...e5f049799e |

Have a MrRobot link in my first post to the profile I used. Incidentally, the one you linked can't be BIS, since it uses 5/5 Masters, and using a Mystic chest or boots is better for total dps (+10 Willpower at no loss other than endurance). In addition, as I pointed out in my above post, you need quite a bit more than 150 Alacrity to equalize against Surge, and the 25 version mods are better than the 25As. Basically, I think you completely skipped reading the OP entirely. I didn't ask for a link of what someone thought was BIS. I provided what I believed to be a BIS list, and asked for critique on it. Many of the issues with the current import list are present in your provided BIS list, issues I addressed and corrected in my post. Basically, please don't just blindly post replies without reading first, frmorrison. You've been around here long enough to know better than that. Edit: well, you've corrected the setup a bit now, but still, 25 mods instead of 25A, and for a BIS list, you should really be using the raid drop grade 25 mods. I also went out of my way to minimize the different types of modifications present. There's no reason to have a crit/alacrity mod if you're going to slot a power/surge on elsewhere. Might as well just use the more common power/alacrity and crit/surge mods, as you get the same net benefit. You're also using the incorrectly databased 25 mods in some cases (which have the stats of the grade 24 ones for some reason). Even Angels must kill from time to time...

If you take a look at frmorrison's link you'll see gear which already has 1626 power but lacks crit. There is no need to go for even more power there. |

Quote:Here is the BiS By the way, your setup is simming at 1595 dps, versus 1617 with mine (corrected for the set bonuses from above). Modifying my setup by swapping to the orange bracers and belt (both with Resolve Armoring 25s and Mettle Mod 25s), a pair of the Nano-Optic implants (w/ 28 Willpower augments), and swapping out a single Power/Alacrity enhancement for a Crit/Surge one to maintain stat ratios brings the dps up to 1648.
