Long time visitor, first time poster.
I'm a Lightning/Madness Hybrid DPS (1/12/28) trying to min/max my gear like many others here. I'm in full 61's. Here is a link to my current gear: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/00...c0225433eb I've been stacking Power at the expense of Crit (currently 666 power), but I am afraid my crit has gone too low (174 crit, 32% buffed). My surge is healthy (342 surge, 77%). I've debated swapping out my 3 Aptitude/Mettle 26A mods for the 26 version - sacrificing 11 willpower for 29 power-or-crit each as discussed in another thread. I'm curious what others think - continue stacking willpower and power at all costs, or bump my crit up 58 (or 97) at the expense of 22 (or 33) willpower? |

Definitely sac the 26A mods for 26 versions, that's a universal DPS gain. I would recommend you swap all 3 to Crit. That'd bump your crit rating to 273 and drop your Power to 654.
At that point, you could drop another 41 Power for Crit by swapping one of your Aptitude mods to Mettle, putting you at 603 Power and 324 Crit. I'm not sure off the top of my head if this would be a DPS increase or not, but my gut says it would be. I'd have to run it through SimC to know for sure, though. Even Angels must kill from time to time...

If you want you can check out my bis gear list. Its similiar to Saros one but not equal. I think I have developed a good combination for sorc BiS. Of course, I arranged it so none of the pieces had an augment slot in it, since in 1.3 all will be able to be augmented and all you'd have to do is add a slot in-game.

Black hole wrist/belt are not BiS, you should go legacy stuff. Althought, for my part, I tested it with Simcraft. Well, yes and no, Frmorrison. You have to consider cooldown layering. Previously, stacking the relic with a damage done cooldown (like Polarity Shift) and Recknessless would provide more benefit per charge or per second of the cooldown. Since the relic durations lasted longer than the charges/duration of both of those effects, reducing the magnitude and increasing the duration actually decreases the total dps benefit of the relics.
Even Angels must kill from time to time...

Heyas,
I was led to believe that rakta boundless ages relic augmented was better than matrix. Then augments changed but no update. Then campaign relic of boundless ages came out and can be augmented. Now matrix cubes have their stats increased (and can be augmented currently on pts but not sure if that will carry over to live). Which is bis now along with an internal/energy proc relic? -Nish |
