I usually use this after my first FiB during potency so my ability looks thus: CDs>Severforce>forcebreach>FiB>tkthrow(useful for the force refund(only during potency)>shadow strike(FW)>DS spam. I'll run some math and see what i can find, it's certainly an interesting prospect and with appropriate conditions may be a real thing. Askmrrobot Profile WTB Karagga/Bonethrasher HM/NiM drops -_- |

Neither use of FL is a DPS increase. Looking at Damage-Per-Execute-Time for Reck_FL: You can see that FL, even with +60% crit chance from only being used with Recklessness, has a very small marginal DPET increase over simply Saber Strike. .simc: Code: Sith_Assassin_Madness.simc |

Yeah, Pixel, would you please post the spec for us to see where those points from chain shock and UK go? I feel that the only other option I have is to put them in PvP talents (which I suppose would still be better than putting them in chain shock if you'll never be using shock, but still) and I feel that's a bit of a waste. Especially since we already spent 3 skill points on semi-PvP skills in Darkness. Admittedly, they do have their utility in PvE. |

It's truly flavor and personal preference, I have heard some comments from others that they like to keep chain shock to use on trash mobs and the like but I find that too be far too force heavy and I honestly don't even have shock on my bars at this point. For raiding I definitely recomment 7/3/31 over 5/5/31 (trading 2 in Dark Embrace for two in Lightning Recovery), and this is the current build I'm using for raids with a little pvp thrown in. I'm curious to see what kind of dps you can output in pvp with this build. I have the champion MH, OH, gloves, headpiece and boots, rest is battlemaster stalker set. In this gear I got the 300k dps medal for possibly my first time ever (they had a ton of healers). I see my sage buddies easily topping 400k dps in the same WZs. Do you have this experience as well or are you topping the charts? If I'm trying to top the dps charts, I just dot everyone up and then follow our standard rotation (no shock/project) on whichever target we are trying to burst down. Thanks! |

RE: Highest DPS Assassin Madness spec/rotation?
Has it been tested whether a madness rotation without shock/project is still optimal without the pve 4-piece bonus?

Yes, removing Shock from the rotation is higher dps without adding in any set bonuses. The 4 set bonus is very good, and makes the shock-less build even better. I can see the 20s Force Speed being nice, but a 150s CD Force Cloak seems underwhelming. I'd think the extra damage from Electric Execution would be more useful. I've got 2 points in Dak Embrace right now, but I wonder how useful it really is. I seem to rarely run out of force as long as I follow a strict rotation, but coming from Deception I'm having a hard time convincing myself I don't need it!
