Scoundrel/Operative Healer BiS (PvE)
Disclaimer: This is a W.I.P and an open discussion so feel free to endorse or disagree with peoples' statements regarding BiS but please supply evidence to backup your claims.
Scoundrel/Operative Healer Best-in-Slot I will admit that I have never made anything like this before so feel free to leave a comment about anything you disagree on or want changed. Table on content: 1. - Stat weight 2.1 - Sustainable healing BiS 2.2 - Burst healing BiS 3. - Credits 4. - Update log This list will supply two different BiS sets that prioritize stats differently depending on going surge/crit heavy(Sustainable healer) or more-than-avarage alacrity(Burst healer). 1. Stat weight Due to the recent nerf to surge and the use for reactive healing at HM/NiM alacrity is not considered a harmful skill, but should now rather replace some of the surge that are now lost to DR. This means the following stat weigh: Cunning >= Power > Crit > Surge (to ~250) > Alacrity > Surge
It should be noted that this should only serve as a guide for your choice of stats upon upgrading, and you should always take into consideration your play-style and how you feel the need for faster casting or bigger numbers.Math can only do SO much--no one can live up to theorycrafting 100%. 2. Best-in-Slot lists 2.1 Sustainable healer BiS:
Replace all Mods with [Advanced Artful Mod 25] (from Rakata Field Medic Helm/Gloves) Replace all Enhancements with [Advanced Battle Enhancement 24] (from Columi Strength Mainhand and Offhand Lightsabers) Use [Advanced Adept Enhancement 24] when over 350 crit (from Columi Enforcer Helm/Gloves) You can wear 2 of Champion Field Medic's Helm, Gloves or Pants for +15% Recuperative Nanotech/Kolto Cloud in exchange for -42 Cunning. You can wear 1 of Rakata Enforcer's Helm, Gloves, or Pants for +10 Cunning on the hidden armoring. An [Alacrity Relic] can be useful. Min/Max: Armormech can make better BoP Belts and Wrists and go Biochem after. Biochem makes BoP reusable Adrenals and BoP Stims that give 8 more Cunning and 3 more Power than BoE Stims. There are rare moddable Belts and Wrists that can be better. Cybertech can make BoE Mastercraft Earpieces that are better. Datacrons! 2.2 Burst healer BiS:
Replace the Enhancement (+power/+alac) slot in three pieces of gear with the Advanced Battle Enhancement 24 (+crit/+surge). At this point surge's DR reaches a point where it's almost equal Cunning, so add in Advanced Skill Augment in your augment slots. These stats give the following weights (normalized to +1 Cunning): Power .97, Crit .76 and Surge .64 3. Credits and reference
4. Update Log 27th Feb. 2012 -- Reduced the "Stat weight" section to only contain one list. 27th Feb. 2012 -- Added starting content to "Burst healer" list. 24th Feb. 2012 -- Added starting content to "Sustainable Healer" list. RE: Scoundrel/Operative Healer BiS (PvE)
Do I understand it correctly, that you want to create a list that doesn't help people beat content but gives them a goal to strive for when everything is already on farm status, thus giving no effectual benefit (on the result) whatsoever?
Please understand that I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. But I would suggest to add one or two 'pre-raiding' sets. |

The purpose of these kinds of threads are to give an easy way for newcomers to see what gear is currently considered BiS and and theorycrafters to discuss what is BiS at one given time. I will not be added anything to this thread that is not relevant to BiS and I think one such list that you are talking about should be made in a separate thread. That said I doubt "pre-raiding" gear is even necessary since pretty much everything your role can use from HM-Fps are valid, but that is a discussion best saved for a thread dedicated to that topic. RE: Scoundrel/Operative Healer BiS (PvE)
1. It looks like you're listing the DPS relic instead of the Healing Relic.
2. I believe the Crit crafted Columi ear, and implant pieces are BiS, not the Rakata ones with no augment slot. |

RE: Scoundrel/Operative Healer BiS (PvE)
If you're looking for recommendations for the 'burst' healer set, I recommend starting with the following:
Rakata Field Medic in every slot. Crit Columi Field Medic Ear and Implants This starts you off with over 500 alacrity, which is too much. You're up against some hard diminishing returns here, and don't have a single point of surge. Replace the Enhancement (+power/+alac) slot in the Head and Gloves with the Advanced Battle Enhancement 24 (+crit/+surge). You now have 96 surge rating, at which point the stat weights suggest that Cunning becomes a more valuable stat, so slot in +cunning augments into all the Crit Columi accesories. Result: 1624 cunning, 464 power, 399 alacrity, 182 crit, 96 surge. 400 alacrity is still too far into the diminishing returns region for my taste. I'd want to drop 50 points, and the most logical place is to remove one more enhancement (from the boots, chest, or legs), and again replace it with the Crit/Surge Advanced Battle Enhancement. Final Stats: Cunning 1624, Power 464, Alacrity 348, Crit 179, Surge 144 These stats give the following weights (normalized to +1 Cunning): Power .97, Crit .76 and Surge .64 |

At Surge 350, Surge is below Alacrity, even though the sustained rotation doesn't use much cast time. Even at 300 surge, they're so close to eachother for sustained output that most imo should prefer alacrity for the much greater benefits it provides for burst healing, even if you only use that rarely. At what crit and surge ratings they cross eachother, I don't know. Look at http://sithwarrior.com/forums/Thread-Ope...preadsheet Guild Master, Ancarim Iron Legion |

If you can get--lets say 5 people(?)--to post in here endorsing your new calculations I will change it, after all this is a discussion

I understand what you're saying. I too hope the peer review process comes through soon ![]() But no matter how you look at it, Jagare's spreadsheet is now simply wrong. It hasn't been updated with the surge nerf formula, so it greatly overestimates surge rating, and not considering TA procs wasted is a serious modelling error which hides some of the effect of alacrity. In my opinion, advice based on it shouldn't be passed on. Guild Master, Ancarim Iron Legion |
