RE: Arsenal DPS spreadsheet
I guess this might be as good a time as any to post about my plans for the sheet.
As previously mentioned, I've added an items sheet. The plan is to invert the current item display in the HUD, so that you pick an item from a dropdown list in the currently greyed out slot name cells rather than pop in your stats manually. This should make item set comparisons alot better, because ultimately you aren't interested in dps changes from adding +20aim, -5cunning, +30power etc. You want to know what happens if you swap item X to item Y. However - and there's always one of those - it isn't without issues. First of all, I need to make an option for augment choices as well. What I could do is simply make the sheet pick the best augments (and whatnot) and automatically save this to the stat totals. This may be a problem due to availability of said augments though. Opinions and suggestions in this regard are most welcome. Secondly, pulling data from Torhead is problematic as augment slots aren't recorded properly by Torhead. As other databases suffer from similar problems we're pretty much left with manual labour as the only option. That is ofcourse unless someone can pull data from NodeViewer. Still being without my new f***ing motherboard, I don't have this option. Consequently, I looking for voluntary contributors. If you can craft a list of relevant items using Nodeviewer, nice! If you're willing to add a couple of items to an itemlist I'll be setting up on googledocs, nice! Depending on what options we have, it can be done prior or post patch 1.2. Additionally, I'll try to add some PVP calculations as we go along. For those who are interested I can report Expertise has an EP weight of around 0.73. However, given that Expertise increases damage by the same amount as it reduces damage taken and because PVP is always about how much damage you deal compared to how much you receive, it is reasonable to argue the effective EP weight of Expertise is really 1.46 making it vastly superior to any other stat in PVP - as it should be.
