So yes, you won't overflow 100 Energy during a DS channel if you start at 76 Energy or less. Now if you look at the context where that threshold is used: (02-18-2012 06:31 AM)CaseyTheRetard Wrote: 2. If SRMP has less than [3 + cast time of DS] remaining and Energy < 76, cast DS. This rule is preemptively channeling DS in anticipation of a KP refresh, so it's ok to get very close too 100 Energy. |

RE: Operative HPS Spreadsheet
The original spreadsheet here contain several faults imo.
1) The calculation for surge is pre-nerf, which changes things a great deal 2) The rounding down to a whole number of casts makes little sense. If we knew a fight was exactly 300 secs and we thought we could play perfectly, knowing at exactly what alacrity rating we could get off one more heal might make sense. As it is, fights have varying lengths so the assumption of 300s is flawed and we're interested in knowing the average HPS output over a long fight, and simply operating with fractions of a cast will give a much more honest comparison between alacrity ratings. 3) Every TA from KI casts and every TA proc from KP is calculated as giving us an SP cast. That is not realistic. Procs that happen during a KI cast will result in a wasted TA (the alternative is to cancel the KI cast, which will also have its cost in terms of healing output and will in most cases be worse as it will result in energy reaching 100 which is extremely costly due to energy regen dropping to 0). 4) Burst Healing capability over say a 15sec period should be analyzed also. 5) Sustained rotations with AoE heals should be analyzed also. I've updated the spreadsheet with all of the above and I'll post it one of the next days, it just needs some cleaning up. The major finding so far is that at 200 alacrity rating and 300 surge rating, increasing alacrity provides around 75% of the effect that surge does for sustained healing, and while it provides 400% the effect for burst healing. At 350 surge rating, alacrity is equal to surge for sustained healing, but 550% more effective for burst healing. Depending on how badly you favor a bit of sustained healing to a good amount of burst, it seems to me that we should go for surge ratings somewhere between 250 and 300. |

RE: Operative HPS Spreadsheet
there is no way to limit your surge to between 250 to 300.
I am full rakata set and I have replaced all my enhancements with +34 power or +19 crit columi enhancements. both of these enhancements replace Alacrity with Surge so I have ended up with 400 surge and 360 crit. |

Maybe current gear availability won't let you get an optimal stat combination, but that won't change the stat recommendations. If replacing enhancements was optimal, the only way to tell is to run the numbers. Guild Master, Ancarim Iron Legion |

RE: Operative HPS Spreadsheet
Do we have any idea what the time interval on regen on the backend is? Pugnacity ticks for 3 Energy every 3 seconds, but what about standard regen? Is 5 Energy/s awarded per second, or as 0.5 per 0.1 seconds, or 2.5 per 0.5s? I'm assuming the timer starts when you first lose energy, as opposed to on the server's clock ticks.
Anyone have any knowledge of this? |

Just wanted to point out that this is actually possible, as Both crit and power can be paired with either surge or alacrity I have definetly got 300 crit / 298 surge and I think ~250 alacrity (trying to remember off the top of my head, patching ptr atm). These are the relevant enhancements (linked are 24 version but 25 do exist): Battle -24End/34Crit/48Surge Insight -24End/34Crit/51Alacrity Adept - 24End/34Pow/48Surge Quick Savant - 24End/34Pow/51alacrity I'm pretty all of these are available from our own set of gear (if you check both pvp and pve sets). Additionally the crit/surge can be found in the warrior pve/pvp set (see: BiS Thread in this very forum) Using theses enhancements its easy to stack Crit --> Power and from Surge --> alacrity at their respective caps. Obviously the rakata equivalent to theses is rarer, checking the GTN for sold versions is one way. I haven't check BM as im not there yet but thats probably another more accesible route. |
