Weapon Damage and Force/ Tech Power
The question is quite simple:

Since the damage calculation differs for Force / Tech abilities and Weapon based abilities, it is quite hard to compare them without concrete numbers.

Has anyone a hunch or formula or maybe a link or table on how Weapon damage and Force / Tech Power are derived from Weapon rating?

Something like this normal ability deals 3,6x Weapon rating + 0,37 Attack power vs a Force skill dealing 3,4x Weapon rating + 0,6 Attack power would make comparison and scaling prediction much easier.

RE: Weapon Damage and Force/ Tech Power
This is in the game files, I believe in tbl / cbtweaponperleveltable. As you can see, it varies by item quality and item level.

Edit: I understand now what you're asking. If tech/force power doesn't scale proportionally to weapon damage across all weapon ratings, then tech/force attacks could shift in relative value versus ranged/melee attacks as a weapon is upgraded.

My initial response below didn't answer that, sorry.

For what it's worth, here are the ranged attacks for snipers:

WpnCoef = multiplier for weapon damage contribution (equal to 1 + AmountModifierPercent)
BonusCoef = multiplier for "ranged bonus damage" (called Coefficient in game files)
Wpn/Bonus = the relative rate at which weapon damage contributes vs ranged bonus damage

Ranged Attacks WpnCoef BonusCoef Wpn/Bonus
Ambush 2.200 3.290 0.669
Cull 0.520 0.780 0.667
Followthrough 1.510 2.270 0.665
Overload Shot 0.830 1.240 0.669
Rifle Shot (basic attack) 0.500 0.500 1.000
Series of Shots 0.652 0.980 0.665
Shatter Shot 0.380 0.560 0.679
Snipe 1.230 1.850 0.665
Suppressive Fire 0.190 0.277 0.686
Takedown 1.800 2.700 0.667
Weakening Blast 0.580 0.870 0.667

Note that all of the special abilities scale with approximately the same ratio of weapon damage vs bonus damage.

So getting a huge upgrade to a weapon, for example, won't drastically shift the value of different ranged abilities relative to each other (at least for snipers).
