Currently, only those three abilities are affected by Accuracy. So for a tank, accuracy is weak, but having a few points of it isn't going to hurt.

It still reduces characters defense doesn't it? I.e. over 100% accuracy reduces their defense. For example how it's discussed in point 2 of this post. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthrea...dit3075739

Yes, for PvP where you want to hit hard and quickly, 5% accuracy is nice to have since Rail shot is a hard hitter. That is assuming you had a 21/2/18 or 4/6/31 build though, if one was PvPing with 31 ST then accuracy isn't that great.
My previous response is for the PvE realm.

Sadly, I lost interest in the endgame of SWTOR awhile ago. Someone else is free to take over this thread/project.

RE: The Shield Tech/Shield Spec Compendium
The Abilities section in this thread has seemed to have bugged. The abilities themselves have dissapeared. Can this be rectified?

The [tip] functionality seems to be broken for right now, so I removed all of those. They no longer link to the appropriate tooltips, but at least people can see the ability name in the proper context. Sorry that I won't be maintaining the thread much more than that, but hope that helps some.

Thank you for the information though, it is a great resource for those of us new to tanking endgame in TOR. I was going to post my stats to see what assistance I could get. Does anyone still respond to this thread?

RE: The Shield Tech/Shield Spec Compendium
from what i can tell our spec isn't changing, just moving the 2 points freed up in empowered tech to the new talent they're giving us.

RE: The Shield Tech/Shield Spec Compendium
For pve, that is correct. The new talent is right beside the old one.
The other change is you want to use the 31 talent nearly on cooldown.

RE: The Shield Tech/Shield Spec Compendium
So I rolled through HM Lost Island and some story mode EC last night, and found myself altering my rotation quite a bit:

I would open with the usual charge > punch > RS combo, but then I would immediately hit Flame Burst and Heat Blast together, and then follow with 2 more Flame Bursts to stack my avoidance as quickly as possible.

Additionally, with the amount of Absorption the proc relics now give, would it make more sense to stack Shield + Defense enhancements instead of Shield + Absorption? Or slotting in Shield + Power augments instead of Absorb + Power (especially with the lower shield chance we have from skills).

Absorption is generally talked about as the king mitigation stat, but when that relic procs it goes deep into DR. Just wondering if anyone has thought about this (haven't seen much activity in the PT tanking threads) as I am trying to optimize gear before starting HM EC.
