If you've got a Sorc with Oppressing Force, it makes that pull really easy if you just use a "NO AoE" rule and have him drop Whirlwind on the center standard. Everything but the gold gets CC'd, no mess, no fuss.

It's rather funny, that when my guild started HMs we'd invariably lose one person on this pull every day. These days, we still come out of the instance saying "that's the hardest pull in there" but now it's only because someone gets to half health.

And no, we don't often try to CC anything on that pull, just rambo it.

To the OP's point, and others who've chimed in, skillful PROPER use of Overload, et al, is impressive and will get you points in my book. Hitting it inappropriately more than once an instance (I can understand one "oops," I've done it myself) means I ask you to take it off your bar until we're done. Smile

Making better use of knockbacks is easy:

When you are surrounded by things and you are not the tank, do not knockback.

Move out of the cluster, then knockback. Now instead of knocking them all back in 5 different directions, you put yourself to one side of them all and knocked them all in roughly the same direction.

Specifically, run in the opposite direction of where the tank is, so you're knocking the mobs towards him.

Even Angels must kill from time to time...
