RE: Simulationcraft for Sage/Sorcerer
(03-21-2012 12:49 AM)CaseyTheRetard Wrote: In a t second fight it is possible to cast the highest priority ability 1 + floor((t - cast_time) / (cooldown + cast_time)) times. The Lightning sims average 1.81 seconds per cast of TB, so there could be at most 1 + floor((300 - 1.81) / (9 + 1.81)) = 28 TBs. Realistically, you can only achieve that number if you cast nothing else so that you are always ready to start casting immediately when TB comes off cooldown. Above formula would depend on when cooldown period start: a) when you start casting spell b) when you finish casting spell c) for insta spells, when GCD pass That is interesting question, which I actually did not test. In case of "a", you could cast ~t/cooldown spells within "t" time. I guess you assume "b" and thus possible number is ~ t/(cooldown+casttime) ... ignoring in both cases those limiting last cast and waiting for higher priority spells. For example, if it was "b", then FL without Madness should be usable every 9sec, not every 6sec. Or there is "d" option for channeled spells. BTW, did anyone test above or know when cooldown starts? It seems "b" is more logical, but it would be nice to know for certain ;p |
