RE: 31/05/05 Pure Marksman, The rotation in all its theorycrafted glory.
The best standard rotation seems to be:
SoS - ProcAmbush - FT Rifle/Filler - Snipe - Rifle/Filler - FT Rifle/Filler - Snipe - Rifle/Filler - FT which is about a 18s rotation (slightly longer based on whether or not Proc Ambush happens, though SoS and previous Snipe gives a very good chance of the proc). This ends up being a +15 energy cycle (108 over 18s vs 93), though if we need to keep up 100% uptime on Shattering Shot, this effectively becomes +5 since we must spend one filler on Shattering shot. On top of this, the best use of Rapid Fire and Target Acquired should be to SoS-SoS-SoS and then transition into the rotation. This effectively gives us a 96 second rotation neglecting Alacrity boost from TA, and slightly less when factoring in TA. The SoS-SoS pair is -4 energy, so the overall cycle is +16; if we save 2 seconds due to TA, this effectively works out to a +4 energy cycle (assuming nothing is lost due to capping or movement and thus no Sniper's Nest). While Alacrity in general is pretty useless for us due to being tied to a short cooldown (Followthrough) I still feel a small amount to compensate for latency is a good idea. In particular certain abilities don't seem to be queueable (e.g. immediately after SoS) so some latency reduction seems helpful in practice. I wouldn't recommend getting any gear for it, but the 4% talent seems just about right, and if we're keeping up Shattering, there's no real practical use for Explosive Probe anyway. I'm not sure even OS can be used functionally in a single target rotation with Shattering Shot. |
