Orange (Custom) Bracers and Belts

According to rumor and hearsay, they are world drops starting around level 20-30. They spawn without any mod or armoring, and have no enhancement slot. They are quite valuable, especially since one modded with the daily mods is decent gear for running operations.

I have two experiences with them. I found a consular-only belt in a blue item case at the end of the Belsavis bonus series at level 50. I'm running the various bonus series as I collect datacrons. I'm currently posting it on the GTN for a sizable 200k credits; it hasn't sold yet.

I also found, out of luck, orange heavy armor bracers on the auction house for the low price of 20k. I expect that the seller didn't know of the item's rarity.

Since most people aren't yet aware of how these items work, you should be able to get good deals from the folks lucky enough to have acquired them but uninformed enough to know how much they are worth.

Does anyone else have experiences with these items?

My Operative has a set of orange bracers. I did a double-take when I saw them but hadn't actually looked at what was going on - this explains it!

No idea where I got them, but then I don't pay attention to what's dropping when I loot mobs. I'm not sure at this point whether they were BoE or BoP either, but I can confirm they only have 2 slots which were empty when I found them.

I'm pretty sure they're all BOE. I'd also wager they all have class requirements, as both of the ones I have encountered do.

They may or may not drop from "normal" mobs. The story I heard was that a guy got one from either an elite or a champion, and mine of course was from a blue item case.

I'm pretty sure I got an orange set of bracers from a quest. It was possibly a bonus series, I can't remember off the top of my head.

I found an orange set of trooper bracers off a random mob when questing Taris. Seems to be just random. Haven't tried selling them yet, but with how rare they seem to be I might try around the 200k range also.

Pretty surprising that there's such an itemization hole in the game for something that can be acquired at relatively low levels though.

Was doing regular runs on one of the Balmorra heroic quests (the one you pick up before you leave the town ), and there I got Orange bounty hunter bracers out of the blue supply cache that you can pick as reward.

Only got one pair so far, so it seems quite rare.

The belt I posted for 200k sold in the first 48-hour period.

I think it would be a very good idea for everyone reading this to regularly scan the GTN for orange belts and bracers, buy them, and mark them up to obscene prices. At the moment, they are quite the hot commodity.

Also, I now have an orange belt as well!

Lucky you, I'm searching the GTN for some bracers or a belt for the past 3 weeks now...seemingly they simply don't exist on our server

I guess it just depends on how large a player base your server has, on mine I've been able to pick up the IA brac and belt, a BH belt and a inq brac so far. I've managed to buy a belt for a Warrior for a guild mate too. They were all very, very cheap so I presume it was just low levels who didn't realise their worth. 1k for a belt that rivals any blue/purple? Yes please!

My merc healer actually has a pair of Orange bracers. I honestly don't remember where I got them, but I either looted them or bought them for a low price on the GTN. A guildie of mine was shocked to see that I had them and I didn't realize how rare they were.

Gonna scan the GTN as soon as I get home for some more of them.
