and throw it in a subsection in the ability details called "Derived statistics" or something, to make it clear it's an expectation and not a pure measurement. Maybe report both "EDPE(self)" and "EDPE(total)". Would that be satisfactory for your needs?

yes, that would be good Wink

More info is always better, so EPDE self and total are better than just single number, even if EDPE(total) is more important one.

And it would be good if you include also EDPET , can be just one as EPDE(total)/time_of_execution

Name of values and subsection are not important to me as long as numbers are there ;p

From "time_of_execution" shall I infer mean time of execution?

Same one used for current DPE - I believe that is "Execute Time per Execution" number in spell details.

Also, if you are going to make new subsection and you need filling some empty space there, you could consider putting 'actual/expected' percentage number there too, since that is one we discussed previously, that could signal someone (if too low) that spell was not efficiently used.
But that is easily compared by looking at DPE and EDPE, so its not nearly as important as other two (EDPE, EDPET).

RE: DPS Excel calculator for Sorcerer / Sage
I'm a tank by trade but I am trying to dig up some material for a friend of mine. Is this spreadsheet current/accurate as of 1.3? Were there any sweeping changes that would preclude it's use as a DPS tool?

It can be used both by Empire side Sorcerers and Republic side Sages.

(Ver 1.51 - 21.03.2012)

While I commend you on creating a calculator for this, I found a fundamental flaw in your Skill build for even the Hybrid Spec for the Sorc.

First off you list the hybrid spec as 0/13/28. However the numbers don't really add up to 28 under Madness. The same goes for the Madness Spec.

Second, in order to put a point into Lingering Nightmares, you need 20 points in the tree before it will even highlight Tier 5 Skills. The way your build is in excel, you have only 16 skill points listed. Thus you need to add 4 skill points to tiers 1 through 4. (My recommendation is to put 2 in Parasitism and 2 in Haunted Dreams.) Whatever is placed in the skill tree in Tiers 1 through 4 will need to be added to the excel spreadsheet since the only skills listed are those with points.

Third a much better idea would be to list all of the skills in all the trees and allow the customization of the skill tree as you have a column for that already. I know this adds more work which why I am suggesting it.

Whatever you decide to do thank you for the calculator it has helped in combination of other analysis tools like parsers.

I haven't played around with the other Specs. I will as gear my Sorc for Corruption as well.
