So I was trying to work on some numbers for sawbones and found this thread: http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/thread-775.html

but the numbers we wonky (all crit and all power were better than some or both... and strongly favored all crit with surge at 340 and alacrity at 240)

So I tried to find optimizations with those numbers.

Using the spreadsheet to find the HPS, I found for:

Surge Rating 340
Alacrity 260
Cunning 1,768
Crit Rating 176
Tech Power 1,346
Power 1,064

a sustained HPS of 1854. I took the model:

(ah+cp(cun)+p(pr))*(1+c(cr, cun)*s(sr))/(1-a(ar)*am) = 1854

where ah is average heal, cp is bonus healing from cunning cun, p is bonus healing from power rating pr, c is crit chance from crit rating cr, s is crit multiplier form surge rating sr, a is alacrity from alacrity rating ar and am is the alacrity matters term.

I set that equal to the HPS the spreadsheet calculated and used the time information to see that a fraction of 0.52 of the time is spent casting stuff that alacritty affects, so i used that for the am term.

doing this i found ah to be 956.5.

Pluging this back into the model for optimization, where we are still using am=0.52 first order approximation, and setting the cr+pr=2050 and ar+sr=600 (for dread gaurd stat budget) we find:

HPS= (1239.0000+.1700*pr)*(1+(.5162-.3000*.9667^(91.1000-0.444e-1*pr))*(.8100-.3000*.9667^(.1818*sr)))/(.8232+.1560*.9667^(21.8200-0.364e-1*sr))

where

> s(sr):=0.51 + 0.3 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( 0.01 / 0.3 ) )^( ( sr /50 ) / 0.11 ) ):
> a(ar):= 0.04+0.3 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( 0.01 / 0.3 ) )^( ( ar / 50 ) / 0.55 ) ):
> p(pr):=0.17*pr:
> cp(cun):=0.14*cun*1.14:

from skill-tree, buffs and formulas.

optimizing the HPS function in power and surge gives:

[2080.1803, [pr = 1501.8176, sr = 232.2986]]

so we get an increase of HPS of about 300 if we use these numbers according to this model. this means that alacrity ratin would be 600-232=368 and crit would be about 550.

I dont have much faith in these numbers considering the alacrity matters term really depends on alacrity, which is not in the model...

also, the approximation is only as good as the model, which assumes everything is one spell being cast and critted. here is the profiel i was considering: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/0c...0a8d3e5e62

there is also the problem that the ah term, which should be independent of p,s,c,a, is derived from them in a way from the hps, so this is also a fault of the model.

a bit OT but, this 3d needs to be updated asap imho.

if there is none, when I finish with my main I will take my scoundrel healer and create a new 3d compendium updated.

Until this is updated, here is a good place to start for anyone who is new or wants help with Scoundrel/Operative healing --

I also have a pretty thorough spreadsheet in the Sawbones tab of my spreadsheets. Here is the direct link.

If you don't have access yet, just request it and I'll add you when I see the notification.

Everything should be explained in the spreadsheet but I'll put a few highlights here.
Using a rotation in which you keep your HoTs and 8 people, you can reach 7k hps in full BiS gear. Of that 7k hps, the tank will be receiving 2k, which is plenty enough for most fights. There are very few fights that you actually have to modify the rotation to give the tank more thank 2k healing, especially when there are at least 2 healers in the group. You should be able to solo heal most content once you reach BiS gear following my guide.

I just discovered that I now have access to create new threads. I started on the draft version of the 2.0 version for the Scoundrel/Operative Healing Compendium. It is very lengthy and I am about 3/4 done. I'll work on finishing it up and you should see a new thread post coming very soon.
