I'm also wondering if any of you guys are able to crunch some numbers on alt builds to the Hybrid Madness should Induction become useless for Lightning Charge builds. Something like 2/11/28 that moves the 2pts from Induction to Thrashing Blades while still keeping Darkswell.

Just updated my post on Shadow/Sin Force Consumption, which more accurately encapsulates the Shadow Tanking experience by correcting for some flawed math that has been largely left alone.

RE: May The Force Be With You ! (managing the Sith Assassin's / Jedi Shadow's resources)
i was raiding as deception and now tried madness hybrid, because the math was pretty clear that the dps is superior.

I noticed that the main force restore debuff on the boss is shared with all the dots, so every dot tick on the boss does take away a charge. It doesn't matter who casted the dot. But the mates who's dots tick and consume the charge gain the force, left me with a gap.

I didn't check if that does change the dps in a significant way, but i think we need to take this into account…

Sad

I have seen other people say that when anyone uses the Death Mark charges you the 'Sin gain force as if you used the charge. It is true that other people consume the debuff, but at least it is increasing damage done by the group.

I am sure having more frequent interrupts is a good idea, but is the run speed talent the best sacrifice?

I personally haven't needed the increased stealth or run speed in raids (i just sprint to boss on the initial pull if necessary).

However, Ironfist in HM Esseles tonight pretty much wouldn't have been doable without it.

RE: Explaining Hybrid Madness / Hybrid Balance as Top Damage Spec
(12-14-2011 11:38 PM)lgw Wrote:  ~lots of stuff on dps rotation~

Sorry to noob it up in this thread, but the way I'm reading your dps priority list, one would never use the moves listed as a lower priority than saber strike (other than situationally when various procs occur).

So essentially you are only using project/shock to keep up twin disciplines.

Am I understanding this correctly?

If so, one would typically do this to spike dps:

Force Potency
Force Breach
Force in Balance
Double Strike until 2x cir shadows
Project
Double Strike - hitting Force Breach when CD is up, hitting Force in Balance when down to 3 charges
Project - if Twin disciplines is up
Spinning Strike takes priority when boss health <30%

I'm asking because my dps has been incredibly lackluster on the council event in EV.

That is true, the force is not lost in a blackhole, but my main intention is to maximise my own dmg, not the dmg of sorcs that raid with me Wink.

I felt significant force holes while facing SOA HM last night, thanks to t2's first buff it was just one gcd that was used for Saberstrike to get back, but my main concern is: it felt like it was the same ammount of Saberstrikes that a desception assasin has.

Flashpoints & Battlefields are a different story, madness outperforms those encounters by far (atleast it feels that way Big Grin), but thats not what spec for.

RE: May The Force Be With You ! (managing the Sith Assassin's / Jedi Shadow's resources)
Hi all, sorry if this comment is a little off track from Deathmark procs, but I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my rotation and build:

Build:
http://bit.ly/zTKBPD
(EDIT: Respec'd to double-shock)

Rotation:
http://bit.ly/yKGzBQ
(I keep it around 30 at a minimum there so that I can add Assassinate to the rotation at 30%)

Thanks!

RE: May The Force Be With You ! (managing the Sith Assassin's / Jedi Shadow's resources)
It will be a while before my sin hits 50, but after looking at the trees i feel this may be a viable spec that seems to have been overlooked. the idea is mainly pvp and soloing in dark charge atm, i haven't really looked into pve dps with this spec

you've got super cheap auto-crit shocks, cheap hard hitting thrash, insta-crushing darkness and dark embrace/darkswell for quick force regen.

i haven't done the calculations yet but burst from stealth seems to be fairly impressive since you'll be able to get off a large number of attacks before needing to saber strike.

i do miss a few important talents further up (all Big Grin) the trees, but i'm thinking the trade off may very well be worth it. i'll look into the math when I get home from work.

got home, did the math , and i'd manage to screw one important thing up in my head, namely that thrash is base 25 (not 20 which i was thinking for some unknown reason). Which means my stability went right out the window Big Grin

loosing the deeper talents wasn't worth the trade off either - even the burst from stealth with Blackout and recklessness used works out at around 1450 dps for roughly 35 seconds before your force runs out, and with a stable rotation over 5 minutes drops to around 1250 dps.

So the long and the short of it is FAIL Sad

i'll keep screwing around with weird hybrids though, and next time i'll do the math before posting
