However, it is likely you don't have access to Battlemaster gear. So doing some Hard mode flashpoints and normal Ops can help you get some decent gear until you get all BM gear over time. RE: Imperial Agent PvP Discussion
The issue regarding PvE gear in PvP with TOR is that expertise not only offers a % dmg reduction in PvP combat, but a also a % damage and healing increase. This means that for the vast majority of situations you will gain far more from a PvP item in a given slot than a PvE item. It is possible that with very high level PvP gear in every slot, two set pieces could be sacrificed for a very useful 2 set PvE bonus, but I doubt that would make enough of a difference, considering the gear sacrificed would likely also be of extremely high quality, and you would then miss out on the PvP 4 piece bonus.
Short answer? The PvP gear is best for PvP as it stands now. |

I'm going to have to disagree. Some 4 piece set bonus' suck. I.E. Sorc. Thats part of the reason most people split the two piece with the healing set. So if you take a couple pieces of higher tier pve gear with the rest pvp gear along with 2 piece bonus from pve set you can be better off. Things like 15% crit on backstab for OP can make some huge differences. With the four piece being 5 more energy, its really a toss up. Not to mention the diminishing returns the more expertise you get. You'll get more out of your stats from the PVE gear at higher levels than from PVP gear. But this is all assuming you have, at least, all the rest of your pieces higher pvp gear. I think it boils down to play style and class. |

RE: Imperial Agent PvP Discussion
Unless you have a good set bonus from your pve set you want to use pvp gear. As a op healer I'd rather just go with pvp gear. There are diminishing returns on expertise but with the expertise you can currently get I don't think they are worth worrying about much. Having said that, there probably isn't that much of a difference between going full pvp gear and being mostly pvp with say a third high lvl raid gear.
And doing damage/healing is the name of the game. The only warzone that you could reasonably win even while your team is doing terrible healing/damage is huttball, and that is usually won by smart sorcs/juggs/assasins, our lack of mobility and defense makes us terrible ball carriers. For the other 2 zones, unless you're dumb enough to get ninja-capped, the objective is outdamage/outhealing the enemy. Dorfl/Coriolis of No One Cares, Shadow Hand |

I agree, I think you have given the real long answer to the question. I am thinking from a healing perspective where staying alive to heal longer basically trumps all other options. The thing that really sucks is that 5 extra energy screws up the whole energy bar regen. It's percentage based, so you have to stay above (60% of 105) 63 energy for the max regen instead of 60. Grrrrrr. |

RE: Imperial Agent PvP Discussion
Hello SithWarrior friends! Ghorock here, I'm in the middle of a project to figure out the BiS Gear for Pvp Concealment Operatives. I have also come up with the best Mod and Enhnacement for an Op. So when i'm comparing items I only use the base stats of an item considering no matter which one i choose of the two they will have the same mods and enhancements. My problem is seeing whether a certain PvE piece is better than a PvP piece, I know the PvE stats are higher but im having trouble calculating in the Expertise to see what comes out ahead. If anyone could possibly help me out on this I would be greatly appreciated and include your name in the guide I am writing for Operatives! I will link the stats I already have written down and we can go from there, feel free to post or even message me.
Thanks, Ghorock. BiS Mod = Rakata/Bm Field Tech Helm and or Gloves. BiS Enhance = Columi/Champion Enforcer Helm and or Gloves. For the BiS Gear list I would like to have the minimum of 2 Rakata set for the bonus. Also people are saying expertise drops after about 500, maybe I have to add this in to my numbers? This is where I am lost. Some gear is champion over battlmaster because it has power which is better than crit. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...seFE#gid=0 |

After 500 expertise, the value of more of it does lessen compared to the first 500. However, expertise is still the best dps stat you can get past 500. RE: Imperial Agent PvP Discussion
Since the change to surge I have dropped a good chunk of my expertise gear to make up for damage from raw stats, if I wear all of my PvP gear I have 620ish expertise, which puts me at about 11.5% bonus, However over the last few days I started using more PvE equipment in war zones taking my Expertise down to around 389 (battle master knife, gun, implants, earpiece, Champion boots and pants) if I recall correctly this puts me at roughly 9% (at school at the moment will check when I get home). My surge rating stays the same as I use the same power/surge enhancements for both which is currently at 26% surge (76%) I am currently reworking the mods to get the lower cunning higher power ones. I have noticed that my damage has gone up since I dropped expertise lower and my survivability has stayed the same. Like all of the stats once expertise nears its the diminishing return peak it flattens off quite quickly.
