Cham - how does your guild handle the balls on HM?
Also, have you noticed that NMM seems to drop the same loot as HM? On our NMM kills this week we noticed the exact same drops we got from our HM kill the previous week. If this is really the case it seems like NMM will just be for the epeen then and then switch back to HM for easier kills. |

The loot is bugged and you'll get HM loot in NMM some of the time. It doesn't happen 100% of the time. For us I'd say we're looking at maybe 50% between the two. It's a known bug, so they should be fixing it.
As far as balls go. Taunts. Bring Taunts, and heads up players. Use target of target with a soaker tank to call out whoever needs to soak a ball if one gets away. I dont speak much german, but apparently nm soa wasnt impossible and even 8man kill. or was there a hidden fix? theres the columi mh tokens too. and I'm guessing all the exotech patterns drop off nm aswell, as there hasnt been any info at all where the exotech stim and adrenal schematics drop.

It was just hard mode, even though the lockout said nightmare. There's some pretty good math on the SWTOR forums as to why you can't down SOA nightmare on 8m. You'd need a 6,600 damage crit EVERY GLOBAL to have enough DPS to keep up with the mindtraps, not to mention burning him down. |

Wish we knew how much threat the balls of lightning and death had pre-assigned to their initial targets. Taunt seems to break them away from their intended target, so it would make sense that a set damage amount would also break them away and allow someone else to pop them. Putting a heavy armor range on orb duty to soak and allow for 1 tank 2 heals 7 dps.

Only way to get the lightning orb to deviate from its original target is via a taunt.

Not true, it definitely changes target if original dies. Also, if original gets mind trapped it just chills and evades. Have you tested spamming one with abilities to see if there is a threat/damage threshold?

This is true but I thought you were asking about mechanics of the fight. You are correct, it will change if original person dies and evades if mind trapped and I think it just sits there if you are tossed in the air. I am not sure on that one. I just tank the big pissed off for 20,000 years asshole in front of me and blow mine up if my name is called.
Yes, we have had a ranged DPS unload on one before in our early pulls and never was able to get aggro from the intended target so we knew killing them outright with damage was not the way.You can also let it get near you and it will stop and then explode but you take all the tick damage which added up usually is worse than the explosion sometimes. I believe you already saw it though Cham on our site. Dreww has it. I am interested if Nightmare will have a different one as well.
