lightning balls can be taunted btw, they will then follow the person that did that

making it quite easy to round them up and just run circles around the platform

in 16m two tanks running 180* away from each other should be able to get every ball, we're gona test that tonight

One of my DPS people reported Mind Traps were immune to damage during p4 when SOA was affected by a crystal. Can anyone confirm or deny that? Thank you.

Not sure if its a bug or not - but in NM16 SOA - the Mind Traps have the same HP as NM 8. This made them incredibly easy to burn down. As for immunity in last phase when SOA's shield is down - I can't really say - our focus is always on the boss during the shield down.

So my guild got to phase 2 tonight (on hard mode) and quickly realized the lightning balls are no joke! We've been messing around with different ideas on how to best handle them and our best strat seemed to be the player who's being targeted to call it out (for heals) and just run into it and pop it.

Not sure if this is the best way to go about handling them but we will try the taunting method tomorrow.

I'm hearing that Soa 16m NM is pushing 200k Mind Traps now. We're going to be starting progression on him tonight, I'll report back the changes from the patch. I hear there are a few.

As of last night (1/4/12) in 8 man NM this was false. We killed him and were able to destroy Mind Traps after a crystal had dropped on SoA.

We did run into some other odd bugs - some of our players would die immediately after being released from Soa's Cyclone that tosses you around the room, and accepting a Battle Rez would intermittently port the player back to the starting point of the instance randomly. I'm not sure what behavior caused this as I wasn't able to replicate it in the five or so times I used my battle rez.

I and my guild started hard 8 man hard modes last night and 1 shotted them all (except ancient pylons...stupid bug) but found some difficulty with the Soa fight on hard mode. We've a few times on normal mode but we're unsure of how exactly we're supposed to be dealing with the lightning balls.

We tried to make sure the person they're targetted too are away from the rest of the raid, throw a static barrier on them and hope they survive and heal them up. This becomes problematic though when the tank is taking good amounts of damage and the other healer is either trapped in mind prision or being thrown around.

How are others dealing with this in 8 man hard modes?

med packs, kite the ball till healers recover. have the tank AE taunt the balls and pop them witjh Force Shroud or something similar. none of these options work every time but they all work some of the time.

This boss bugs for us so hard in Hard Mode... When we come to phase 2 he starts doing a mega AoE that takes everyone in the raid typ 20-40% and he does his lightning and 3 lightning balls and whirl in the air thingy and everything just gets instagibbed for us.. When he didnt do that and the mind traps comes as usual we got to Phase 3 without a problem.. Anyone had experience with these bugs and know what to do?
