I always just assumed Rocket Burst targeted randomly (outside of the tank). I've seen it on every member of our raid over the weeks, with no real rhyme or reason, similar to the sticky grenade on Fab. If it was on the #3 threat, I think near the end of the fight you'd see it consistently on certain players, most likely DPS with no threat dumps. I've never noticed this myself.

I almost always get it because I start out burst healing the tank. From there it generally goes to our Op, then sniper, and then generally bounces between our Op and Marauder for the rest of the fight. It's very consistent. Most of our raid members have never got it. Unfortunately the only kill I've frapsed was our first one on Christmas day, so I can't really go back and check. I'll look this week though. |

I suppose one way to test for certain (for the sake of simply testing) would be to take three tanks in and let them scrap for aggro. One of them would always get it, in theory.
It would be handy if there were some logic to it. Still, After weeks of training, random or set target, our raid has been conditioned to handle it to a degree that it is a non-issue (except when they fall asleep at the wheel). Petrus we just slightly differ our approach. By having the 3 "tanks" that always take the burst we control who gets it and who has to be healed. Our dps just use normal stims to maximize output, instead of hitpoints. Same thing really in the long run. I do love this video though and seeing myself go flying across the screen every 10 seconds or so.

Our PT tank had a little issue with this as well. We assumed it was the player, but maybe not? He seemed to only get the taunt off maybe one in every 3 knockbacks. We solo tanked this again last night with an assassin, and I can confirm that only our assassin tank took any kind of damage, other than from the 3 rocket abilities done to other players.

Hey, wondering if people are running into the same issue as our guild - the reticules are not showing up on targets, and people will just suddenly explode with no warning. On NMM 16m this has caused us to wipe a lot. Is it simply a matter of people not spreading out enough? Are we meant to just spread out and totally ignore the reticules? (our strat for HM is to have the targeted person run away, usually shielded)

We've been able to handle that by having just 2 tanks rotate and nobody else ever gets hit with a Cannonade. Guild Leader - Infallible |

*Shrug* I'm a tank so I don't see the grenades but I don't think my guidies are blind or lying. We have no problems with Fabricator grenades being spotted, and it's been reported by both dps and healers that they don't see a reticule on NMM Annihilation. The rest of EV NMM was a cake walk.
Is there any further info on who the grenades target or is it just a random melee/ranged dps/healer? Guild Leader - Infallible |
