The whole melee vs range thing drives me nuts in this game...
As for tactics / prototype being faaar behind assault / pyro I would have to say its a lot closer then you make it sound like. As for fixing things I mean something as simple as making Pulse Gen 15% instead of 10% would go a very long way. The same for Burnout. I wonder if we will see changes before the next tier of ops... |

Well personally coming from a JK Guardian I felt a huge increase in power when I switched to my vanguard. Now I am seeing other classes catch up to me as my ops group gears up. I have started to wonder where I ranked in dps/damage. |

Back on topic a little, has anyone else felt like FT is a dps loss with the 27/28 Pyro builds? Kray's sheet seems to back this up but I know he does not want people to quote his sheet for numbers just yet buttttt its working really well imo and is ready for primetime basically. I always kinda wondered about it with the amount of heat it uses I could throw 2 FB's and get 2 more chances for PPA procs.
Back off topic a little I finished 3rd or 4th this week by maaaybe 5 to 10s max on our council fight so I dunno I guess I feel like with gear we are right with everyone else basicly, I am in almost full rakata. |

For a single target, FT is for Advanced Prototype not for Pyro specs, so you are right, his sheet shouldn't list FT on the priority list. Kray's sheet is the best source of PT numbers on this forum.

Using Kray's sheet, 31 AP shows lower dps and has an easy rotation. 28 Pyro has higher dps (about 200 more using the default stats) and a differing rotation due to procs.
Note 31 AP is noticeably weaker than Pyro in PvP. I am assuming that is one reason why people like Pyro, you don't need to respec to do well in PvP, and in theory Pyro does more dps. Cant use the spreadsheet because there is no support through open office for it. I want to try 28 pyro, can somebody provide the spec and few words to the priosystem / rotation behind this spec?

you can swap 2/3 SR for 3/3 burnout if you want. basic rotation as I see it. Single Target: ~~ Thermal Sensor Override (Use this only for Incendiary Missile) 1 - Incendiary Missile (Keep the DoT up at all times.) 2 - Rail Shot 3 - Rocket Punch 4 - Flame Burst ~~ throw Rapid Shots when heat is above limits AoE: ~~ IM as many targets as you can before you overheat, then Vent. ~~ 1. Use TSO and line up your DFA. 2. Then break out the Flame Thrower. 3. Hope everything is dead. |
