RE: Quick Leveling Tips
- Probably one of the best things you can do to level up quicker is to group up with another player. There are a lot of "Heroic" / group quests and you want to hit them while you are in the area instead of travelling back to the quest if you find someone on it later or you are high enough level to solo it.
- Activating your Bind Points (Quick Travel nodes) are also very helpful for getting around the map faster when travelling to/from quests. These do not behave like WoW's "Home" system. You want to bind to all of the points you come across. |

RE: Quick Leveling Tips
Holocrons, bonus quests (automatic quests in each area, usually kill X of Y), side quests, and heroic quests award an enormous amount of experience together. Try to complete all of them that you come across.
When grouping, particularly in the intro zone, it helps to group with the a different class (each class shares their intro zone with another one). This gives you a much larger variety of utility than you normal would have, as well as differing companions. Remember to utilize all of your utility and CC, particularly on the tougher mobs. Stuns, kiting with snares, knockbacks (mobs take falling damage), etc. all can help you handle pulls that normally would be beyond your reach, or at least very difficult. Sims and medpacks are very valuable, even in the intro zone. They can easily be the difference between a tough kill and an annoying rez. If you are grouped with someone, avoid using Quick Travel to get around. It can place you in a different instance from them, and it shares a cooldown with the ability to change instances to get back to them. Similar to the above, it's often unnecessary to use Quick Travel if, for example, all you need to do is clear your inventory. Medical Droids (they sell medpacks and stims) litter questing zones, often in areas very unexpected for vendors. Though their menu of goods is limited, they are a perfectly functional place to sell or repair your gear. Make use of this regularly, as your inventory can fill more quickly than you might expect. This might be obvious, but go back and train regularly. Many abilities get upgraded ranks every 3-4 levels, and you can pretty reasonably expect to train at least one ability up in rank every single level. At lower levels, you can also expect to gain a new ability every 1-2 levels as well. This is particularly important for certain utility spells (for example, Electrocute for SI (Force Stun for JCs) is particularly helpful while fighting silvers and golds). Use your out-of-combat regen liberally. Seriously. It's free, it rarely takes more than 2-5 seconds to regen all your health (depending on how close to death you were), and it regens any resources you might use (SW/JK aside). Very handy. Lightside and Darkside options can sometimes be a bit unexpected (for example, lightside points for betraying a Sith Lord to his scheming apprentice's plot). Make sure to keep an eye on the conversation options. Also, you don't gain any of the lightside or darkside points until you actually turn in the quest, so if you select an option and don't like the outcome, you do have the option of resetting the quest and trying again. Even Angels must kill from time to time...

RE: Quick Leveling Tips
To Kore: My Quicktravel did not go on cooldown when I switched instances this weekend. So they may have fixed that.
Just a quick one here: As soon as you get your ship, buy each of the upgrades for your ship (the first level ones), equip them, and go do the space missions. There are 3 different ones. You can repeat them. The expereince is good and fast, and driving yourself up a level or two by not questing will give you an advantage when you get back into your quests either on Balmora or the next planet (for me it was Nar Shadaa). Additionally, if you are in an area where the creatures are 5 levels above you, leave. I tried to go to Nar Shadaa early (18 on my Jugg)...the level 23 normal guys in the 2nd quest on the planet rolled me. I couldn't get a hit off. I thought I was lagging until I realized that I was missing every hit. |

RE: Quick Leveling Tips
I've checked the mechanics. If you manually change planetary instances, your quick travel is consumed and you are ported to your last bind point (or perhaps the nearest). If you change instances via prompt to join a party member, you will remain in place and your quick travel cooldown will not be consumed.

RE: Quick Leveling Tips
I'd hate to be Captain Obvious here, but kill every single xp-giving mob in your way when heading to and from quests. You are pretty much running anyway and taking out the mobs take little time but add up over time.
Make sure to "sweep" the hubs for quests when you get to them, nothing kills your efficiency like having to do the same area 2 - 3 times because you missed quests. |

Obtip: You can run stright to the spaceport, head to the fleet and acquire/complete the mission to train crafting skills at level 1. This will take you immediately to level 3 (as the XP rewards are based on you being ~lvl10), which should help speed things up for a bit, and if you want you can level your bioanalysis and scavenging skills on your starter planet. Spaceport locations: Tython - upstairs in the Jedi Temple Ord Mantell - SE corner of Fort Gernik Hutta - East of cantina Korriban - path east of sith academy, just south of valley of dark lords. RE: Quick Leveling Tips
- Follow your class quest
At first I didn't notice the difference between normal quests and class because I just did everything that was on my map. But I figured out that if you follow your class quest you will come along other quests for almost the same spot. - Level your crew skills, I didn't do it at the start and I regret it. If you don't do it on the first planets you won't be able to gather anything anymore on the next planets. You will miss out on a lot of money and will have to do them later if you are trying to level your crew skill. - Repair enough, last night I had to fight an elite for my class quest and I died a few times before, when I finally reached the elite my armor was red. I luckily had some spare 'crap' parts that I could use, but I with a repair the fight would've been a lot easier. - Find out the right companion for you, I never knew what was best, Andronikus or Khem Val. With andronikus everything died fast but so did I. But once I specced for tank everything went a lot smoother. If you are DPS I suggest you get a tanking companion. I wouldn't take healing companions because with a tank/dps companion your enemies should be dead before you are in danger. Afterwards you just use the out of combat regen. This way you go a lot faster. Also, use the out of combat regen until u have 100% HP every time, doesn't take long and can really safe your life. - Get ALL flight paths and press the machine next to it so you can quick travel to it. I had all flightpaths but forgot some of machines to quick travel too. Luckily I only used quick travel 4x from level 1-30 and that was just so I could get back to my ship quick. - Do the Bonus quests before you turn in the main quest, might sound stupid but If you are in a group and someone completed the quest and you join the conversation with holocall, you will lose the bonus quest u have been working on. |

Very interesting tip. That's a quick way to get level 3, and then head back and still have the quests for xp. |
