RE: Imperial Agent & Smuggler - Simple Questions and Answers
I have a table in the Scoundrel/Operative dps guide I posted up last night that shows the breakdowns based of Kore's XML data.

RE: Imperial Agent & Smuggler - Simple Questions and Answers
Was wondering if anyone here know which abilities count as tech abilities for operatives?

Mainly wondering because of the lethality talent. Tried to find info on this but doesn't seem like there is any. Right now it seems kinda unclear exactly which abilities this talent affect.
Logically it would affect all our abilities except our melee ones making it pretty bad for concealment operatives. Would be nice to have it clarified if that's the case or not though.

Increases any damage done by a blaster, which for concealment will generally only be rifle shot and maybe overload shot on occasion. Lethality is useless to use for Concealment operatives for the most part, but where else are you going to place your points? especially as you need 5 to get to T2 and Alacrity is simply woeful for us.

My question is does a scattergun count as a blaster? I would say no as that would immediately unbalance the mirror classes but still I'd like to hear confirmation on that one.

For a pure pve dps spec there isn't any better options. For a pvp/general build the points will be better spent elsewhere though.

I was under the impression that all vibroblade/scattergun attacks still counted as tech attacks for this class.

I'm pretty sure that all non-rifle abilities are tech for the all IA/Smugglers. Basically Lethality increases crit for everything.

RE: Imperial Agent & Smuggler - Simple Questions and Answers
PVE Rotation I've been using:

From cover Snipe>PD>EP>Shiv>debilitate>backstab> RS till dead/repeat.
AOE rotation: Snipe weakest one from cover>PD highest health>Corrosive>Frag grenade,>Companion grenade>RS>Shiv(closest to death)>Carbine Burst

Is this optimal? I've speced lethality, and I'm curious if I should be doing more energy conservation rather than full out DPS. I don't have too much downtime as it is, but I do need to re-coop after 2-3 mobs.

Also, has anyone tired leveling as medic and healing your companion? Is this at all viable?

Does anyone know offhand if the 'defeating an opponent' portion of TA is granted on killing blow, or mob death (assuming you assisted in its demise)? If the latter, is there a method to determine when I would be counted as 'assisting' in a kill?

RE: Imperial Agent & Smuggler - Simple Questions and Answers
I did a bit of testing with Eviscerate to determine what 'incapacitated' means regarding its tooltip. Below are my results

- Debilitate, Sleep Dart, Fragmentation Grenade's knockdown, and Slice Droid all allow Eviscerate to be activated.
- Flash Bang has, and has not allowed Eviscerate to be activated. Will test further. (EDIT - from further testing I can't reproduce getting Flash Bang to not allow Eviscerate to activate.)

I /bug'ed the observation on Flash Bang and asked if this was intended or not. I would assume Headshot (the ranged version IA's receive) would work the same way based on the tooltip alone, however once I receive it I will test it out.

From what I've seen (level 28), most bosses in flashpoints have a buff that prevents CC, so I think that safely rules out Eviscerate and Headshot in a DPS rotation, which is a shame considering it's resource free and a heavy hitting attack.

EDIT - Eviscerate does not light up for me when using the appropriate CC listed above that should allow it to be activated on Elite level mobs. If that's intended, it makes it a fairly trivial PvE skill at end game.
EDIT 2 - I was not able to activate Eviscerate in PvP using Debilitate or Sleep Dart to incapacitate a target.
EDIT 3 - Headshot does work similar to Eviscerate with regards to the above observations.

RE: Imperial Agent & Smuggler - Simple Questions and Answers
After some experience while leveling, i am under the serious impression that you need a killing blow.
Considering the question about the lethality talent, this can be easily determined by just taking a look in the talent list in the game itself, where the type of attack is described in the right end of each ability.

So long,
Kala
