Has anyone considered/researched the fact that Bounty Hunter abilities are based off a bar of 100 whereas Trooper abilities are based off a bar of 12?
Technically a Tracer Missile at 8 Heat consumes a lower % of a BH's resources than a 1 Ammo ability for a Trooper, similarly with 15 Heat vs 2 Ammo.
1/12 * 100/1 = 8.33333...
1/6 * 100/1 = 16.66666...
This becomes a non-issue if Trooper abilities are actually costed on a bar of 100 by the server but just display as a bar of 12 in the UI, since I imagine the difference would be a pixel or less with decent resolution.

But if they aren't then that would make BH superior wouldn't it, or have I missed something?

Edit: After writing this I've noticed that Trooper regen roughly 12.5 Ammo in the same period of time that a Bounty Hunter vents 100 Heat, perhaps the devs have managed to balance these resources correctly.

You're just jelly you have to Beta test for the Oceanic release.

Balancing the regen rate would be my guess. So that dispite using different resources, spending and regening them at differing rates, that in the same time frame they can both achieve the same thing.

It does beg the question though on wheither one is superior in the long/short duration fights than the othe?r ( I would hope not)

Greetings all

First of all, awesome website! This site has helped me alot in so many ways.

I do have a few questions though, but i was unsure if it was ok to post them in the arsenal mercenary threat, since they seem to simple....so i ended up here.

I play an Arsenal Mercenary and i have some questions about equipment and stats.

1) I noticed alot of high lvl crafting gear have +power on them. The stat is not listed in the Arsenal Mercenary stats list. Is it a stat on par with Tech damage and + damage or not usefull at all for an Arsenal Merc?

2) In the abilities list it says +aim till 100% Is this meant for the main hand accuraty or should we strive to get 100% aswell for the offhand?

3) Having two weapons with different max damage, do we use the weapon with the highest max damage in the main hand and the lowest in offhand? (kinda like a fury warrior in wow?)

Hopefully someone can help me out with these questions. I have searched the net about this but came up empty handed.

1. We aren't too sure about this yet. I would presume it operates similarly to Tech Power and so becomes a stat you can pick up on items, as long as you are doing your best to pick up the more important stats before it.
2. Accuracy is not calculated by hand, it's a singular stat. There's ranged accuracy and Tech accuracy. But I would aim for 100% Ranged accuracy before moving on to other stats (meaning, overall 110% accuracy).
3. No numbers yet, but I would presume that it works similarly to WoW in this regard. Just use your more powerful pistol in your main hand, which will usually imply the one with the highest max damage.

Yep, it absolutely counts, so yes, you would have 2 seperate DoTs going using incendiary missle and combustable gas cylinder.

PvE trooper DPS Spec
Question. For PVE (leveling, heroics, flashpoints) what is the best straight up DPS tree for PVE Commando? Ive seen specs go deep into Gunnery and some deep into Assault.

I'm looking for a good template to use while I level up and learn more about the mechanics and pros/cons of the different trees.
