RE: PvE Healing - Discussion
The importance of Surgical Probe is that it doesn't cost any energy to use. It really brings the spec together with a good way to expend Tactical Advantage. It'll be one of our most important buttons.

This, and the point that if the target is at or below 30% life, we will get the Tactical Advantage back, giving us an opportunity to just press it every GCD until our tank is above 30% with no resources spend and still gaining energy... love it!

So long,

RE: PvE Healing - Discussion
Surgical Probe could totally replace Kolto Injection. My guess is that SP is weaker than KI, else KI wouldnt have any place in the rotation at all.

Yeah Kolto Injection does look quite useless against Surgical Probe. It might be intended that KI is just an ability that non medic specced Operatives will use, and actual medics never will.

Edit: Mistook Kolto Injection for Kolto Infusion in my post, whoopsies.
Kolto Injection will be useful, it's Kolto Infusion that won't get any use from actual Medic specs.

My thoughts exactly, Tactician. Speaking as a man who's considering a 30/11/0 specced Operative, I see KI as a means of keeping a TA or two in my back pocket for Laceration spam.

RE: PvE Healing - Discussion
I actually misspoke earlier, referring to Kolto Injection when I actually meant Kolto Infusion. Kolto Injection will be a pretty important button for medics with all of it's Tactical Advantage granting goodness. Kolto Infusion is the spell that costs 20 energy, has a 1.5 second cast, consumes Tactical Advantage and heals for about the same as a Kolto Injection. Infusion will be functionally worthless for Medic specs because Surgical Probe is instant, energy free and heals for only slightly less.

For non Medics, Infusion will be the only heal they can spend TA on, so it might get used every once in a while for them.

Thanks to the lifted NDA, we can now watch videos and stuff.
Take a look on this one, where the first person is an operative doing the healing.
You can see how TA goes up from Kolto Injection and how she uses it to maintain the energy-reg buff.
Unfortunatly, she doesn't use any "advanced" healing talents like HoT, Surgical Probe or the Nano-Tech.
(BTW, with the new ptach, our Hot stacks up to two times,... have fun healing the tank Wink ).
Here's the link to the vid:

Thanks, that video is a great find. Lots to see, lots to learn. Lots of movement required. And I think she could have put in some damage in between, too.
