RE: SWTOR formula list
Quote:Thanks for the reply, in regards to the second question, let's say I have 40% crit chance and I fire at someone with 30% which scenario is accurate Crit and Shield are at opposing ends of the second roll table, they only interact if the sum of your Crit and their Shield chance is greater than 100%. With 40% Crit, and 30% shield, any successful attack on that target (ie. any attack that is not defended against and that does not miss) will have a 40% chance of criting, a 30% chance of being shield, and a 30% chance of being a normal hit, with no overlap between them. What this does mean, however, is that having a sub-100% net accuracy (which is your Accuracy minus the target's Defense chance) reduces your effective crit chance, since only hits can crit. In WoW, it was a single roll system. If you had a 50% miss chance and a 50% crit chance, it was impossible to get a normal hit off. If you hit the target, it crit. In this system, if you have a 50% miss chance and a 50% crit chance, 50% of your attacks will miss, 25% will crit (50% of the 50% that don't miss), and 25% will be regular hits. Even Angels must kill from time to time...
