RE: SWTOR formula list
That's fine, we can update the constants from the game data pretty easily when the patch comes out.

RE: SWTOR formula list
If this was asked/answered/posted somewhere in this thread I am sorry.
Is the point of DR known for things like Crit/Surge/Power? I have seen some people say 35% buffed for crit, but I wasn't sure where they got it from. |

Crit/Surge rating can't go past a 30% benefit. However, Crit is unique in that you have base crit and get crit from your primary stat (also you can get crit and specific ability surge from talents plus IA/Smuggler give 5%). One easily hit over 35% crit, in fact my character has 36% fully buffed with Columi gear. Power does not have DR, it linearly increases. Still a little confused on Crit, but I will just aim for the 30-35% range ![]() Next question. Is there a cap on Damage Reduction, Defense chance, shield, and absorb? |

Defense Chance % = 5 + 30 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( 0.01 / 0.3 ) )^( ( DefenseRating / max(Level,20) ) / 0.55 ) ) The 30*..... section. The coefficient 30 out front says that there is a 30% cap on defense from rating. The 5 in front is the base value (its 10 for Shadows/Assassins for Defense) and any % increase from skills and buffs is added afterwards. There is an explanation of the equations on the front page that goes over this, but its a lot of info. Hopefully that helped and you can read the rest yourself. |

RE: SWTOR formula list
Ah, now it starts to make sense
so for SC and SA the cap is 50, plus whatever my shield generator has, plus buffs? So then we can use the equation ourselves to see where the DR rate starts to really apply. Or for things like 'should I go with an absorb augment or a shield augment' to see which has a the better return rate.

RE: SWTOR formula list
To be exact, 30 or 50 or whatever number are the caps for the percentages but there is no cap on the ratings. It's just that the more rating you already have the less percentage bonus you get per point of rating while slowly approaching the percentage cap.
There are no caps on ratings in the sense that the benefit of more rating points suddenly drops strongly compared to the last rating point after reaching a certain rating. |
