Mercenary | Commando DPS Compendium (2.0 Updated)

Reading through the official SWTOR forums today I notice a thread about how BH/Troopers arent viable in Ops anymore and as such arent asked to participate because they now have the lowest dps off any class.

I havent played my BH in awhile but have just started leveling a Trooper, is this the general consensus post patch now?

I guess it was more aimed at Merc's and Commando's who still seem viable at pvp with better targeting mechanics but for end game content either spec is now considered obsolete.

So what is the now true story, do I stop leveling my Commando and switch to something I'll be using end game?
There were similar contents about Sage's as well so we're not alone.
