RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds
Hey Kor,
I've looked everywhere through this forum for a link to the 21/2/18 build and can't find it. Forgive me if I overlooked it due to lack of sleep. But it would be awesome if I could get a link to it. I'm looking into starting PvP Heals, and can't find a spec that suits my play style. Thanks much. |

RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds
Kor why do you seek power+surge mods and enhancements instead of crit+surge ? Surge scales better with crit than it does with power. The more times you crit the more benefit from the surge. When u stack up power I dont think it will scale very good with surge especially if u have low crit % . Would you please input on that.

Quote:Hey Kor, Generally some variant on this. Quote:Kor why do you seek power+surge mods and enhancements instead of crit+surge ? Surge scales better with crit than it does with power. I have nearly 500 crit rating atm because PvP gear has so much of it on it. Past around 250-350 crit rating, it really doesn't matter how much surge you have, it's still a ridiculously weak stat. Beyond that, it's nearly impossible to have under a 25% crit chance raid-buffed, and 30% is more likely. Force Lightning also gets a bonus 10% on top of that. Lastly, Power is an amazing stat in general for DPS, and doesn't suffer DR. Even Angels must kill from time to time...

RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds
I was hoping to get some input on the following build:
http://www.torhead.com/ability/86INECp Electric Bindings and Backlash bother seem to be very useful. You wouldn't have much DPS capabilities, but you'd be a very effective healer and utility player. |

Quote:Sorry I got confused. Past 350 crit it becomes weak or surge becomes weak. Should I be seeking for power + surge or power + crit mods? Power/Surge (which are hard to find, highest level I've found is grade 22 from Artificers). Crit becomes exceedingly weak beyond 250-350 in it (depend on your surge, usually closer to the lower end of that range). Surge generally doesn't become what I would call "exceedingly weak" under after about 400-450. Even Angels must kill from time to time...

My logic was -> the more you crit the more you benefit from higher crits. Why do you think it doesnt scale well after 250-350? Without crit I tought surge is weak, because it wont be "used" as often. Please elaborate on this it is very interesting. |

RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds
Could someone please explain how the movement slowing mechanic works? I can't find it explained anywhere. Namely, is the 50% movement reduction of Force Lightning/Force Slow additive/multiplicative/or does it get overwritten with the 20% reduction from Conspiring Force? Also, is there a hard cap on the % a player can get slowed in pvp? I have been running a variation of the 21/2/18 spec (this spec) that takes two in Conspiring Force (20% movement reduction with affliction) instead of Reserves (increasing total force by 100) because I have assumed that the slows stacked. I am rarely force starved, and it seems to add some nice utility to the team if I tab affliction everyone, but I might take the points out of Conspiring Force if slows don't stack. Thanks for the help!

Because by that point the DR curve is so steep that you just flat get more benefit out of Power under most stat setups. That said, keep in mind you get crit from Willpower too, and Surge has a very high initial conversion rate. At 250-350 crit rating, you'll a good 30-35% crit chance already. That's plenty sufficient. Thanks for the help! The most powerful snare is the active one. Ie. if you have Aff up with Conspiring Force, target will be at -20%. If you then cast Force Lightning, target would now by a -50%, then again at -20% after FL ends. Even Angels must kill from time to time...
