RE: When do I use overcharge saber as a tank?
With the new understanding of Taunt (it gives permanent threat), threat's issue should be small since you can spam it every 15 seconds. Rakata + overcharge seems like a great idea.

Rakata Pack + overcharge + Froce lighting (w/3HDs) would be best senerio. I try to setup this during warzones. During a boss fight might be hard to time 3HDs.

Lacking of tanking cooldowns is the issue here, it heals you for %10 and it boosts your self healing for the time overcharge saber buff is on you, so it's definetely an emergency button for constant damage phases.

Do you have any more mechanical information on that? Or can you point me to something talking about it?

RE: Sith Assassin/Jedi Shadow Tanking Compendium
Anyone seen this from the Guild Summit notes?

Quote:Something not intended that made certain encounters easier is the fact that armor debuffs from multiple people of the same classes can stack together – this is to be fixed.

This will change things I'm sure. Might this make the Death Field Darkness spec slightly more useful?

I have been running into some threat issues lately. Our BH and IA seem to get Rakata drops on every boss, while the 4 inquisitors have to share what little scraps we get... that's another story. Anyways, the upside of have 3 Sorcs in the raid is that when someone is dogging me in threat, they will do their version of force pull on the other player. The threat reduction is enough to get me squarely in the lead, I can save my taunt and the DPS generally doesn't even notice. This may not work for every group but my guys are awesome!

...it's nice to see them using their force pull for something other than pulling each other off bridges.

have fun...PWK

RE: Sith Assassin/Jedi Shadow Tanking Compendium
looks like a great resource for my new tank, although all the links in the first post to talent trees do not seem to load on torhead for me.

this is the error on torhead "This Skill Calculator link was generated prior to the 11/22 skill tree revamp. Please note it may not be accurate."

RE: Sith Assassin/Jedi Shadow Tanking Compendium
Does anybody have an idea of how much crit% bosses have ? Since it's commonly know that they have 8% defense, I figured it could be of importance, because crit% goes against our shield%.

It is probably not high enough for us to think about reconsidering the optimal stat distribution since defense soft cap is so low, but it does get in the way, as a matter of fact all calculation made here are done assuming 0% crit, you never know.

The tanking spreadsheet assumes attacker has 10% crit.

Playing around with it a bit, it doesn't affect the prioritization (at least not for my current gear) until 40% crit. At that point shield and absorb go to 0.
