RE: Sith Sorcerer Healing Compendium
Just sharing a few more observations from my heroic flashpoint healing last night. For reference I'm using almost all level 50 blues except for 2 PvP purple items. I don't have any set bonus or anything like that. My party consisted of Sith Juggurnaut, Mercenary BH, Lightning Sorc, and myself (Corruption Sorc of course
).In general, I didn't find the heroics too challenging or punishing. Black Talon felt really easy and walked away with some nice upgrades. Boarding Party wasn't too bad either as long as you know the mechanics. The final boss though was really difficult for our group and we got it on the 3rd attempt. Healing for that final boss was really difficult, IMO. We ended with the False Emperor instance (which is way cool IMO). We ended up using a fair amount of CC on some of the bigger pulls which made it go by smoothly. The boss mechanics were fun to figure out and once we understood them, healing was never an issue in non-epic gear. My standard healing rotation was to try and keep Static Barrier up on the tank at all times and whenever any DPS took noticeable damage, put one on up them first. After that I would always start with Resurgence (starts Force Bending) so that I would all but guarantee a crit on Innervate and thus be able to proc a free Consumption. After that if someone was still taking significant damage I'd fall up with a big Dark Infusion. Most of the time when multiple people are taking damage I tended to put up Resurgence on the person who wasn't taking significant damage (to start getting them back to full) and then channel my Innervate on the person who was getting pummeled. This seemed pretty effective at keeping people up. With this rotation I really never found myself without Force and ended some of the longer fights (6-7 min-ish) with around 50% to 60% Force. The only time I really came close to low was the final boss of Boarding Party when I didn't feel I could waste a GCD on a free Consumption. Overall, I really never really felt that I was bound by Force constraints as much as cooldowns. I only used Revivification (our AoE heal) a few times. I'm used to running with guildies so when they saw a big purple blob on the ground they'd move away ("Run from Void Zones!", they'd say ). A few places it was really nice and helpful for but really wasn't used all that much. I do miss a WoW equivillant of Prayer of Healing but oh well. With all that said, I still don't know if I'm doing everything correctly. We got through the fights and it went pretty smoothly for the most part. A few places get dicey with raid wide damage but I'm sure part of that is just learning the fights too. However the entire night I never used Dark Heal once. I can't think of a time where I wish I had but I feel it is still useful to have when you need it. Maybe I should have been relying on this a bit more during the final Boarding Party boss. |
