RE: Sith Sorcerer Healing Compendium
First time post, been lurking for a while.

I wanted to get some thoughts to see if it would it be worthwhile to give up the PVE set bonuses (1.5 sec Innervate reduction and 50 extra force) to mainly go for the 4-piece PVP set bonus (3% 6sec HoT every consumption) after the patch? Is it too much to give up (and you have some lowered stats to make room for expertise)?

With the 2 points in Dark Resilience for a 4% reduction (15% -> 11%) and another 3% from the set bonus, you're around 8%. I realize that the set bonus HoT doesn't fully pair with the consumption cost since the consumption cost is relative to your current health but it's still a reasonable equivalence.

Adam's got a replacement compendium in the RFC, though I've not heard from him about it in a while.

What are your ideas on the ideas suggested here:

As she also stated, the hybrid spec doesn't really look worth the spot in OPs.
But i was more wondering what (more expert) sage/sorcs think of her other takes on living with the changes.

RE: Sith Sorcerer Healing Compendium
Does anyone have any idea what the new "best healing" spec (for PvE) will look like? I have not been able to get on the PTS, but would love to see some discussion on it.

On live there aren't any choices to make to maximize PvE, but at least as of the current PTS there is one choice to make to pickup all the useful PvE talents. Since Dark Resilience (4% less health loss from consumption) is useful now, you have to find room for two points. Before there was 1 floater talent and the second point I felt was best removed from Empty Body (so only 4% more healing received instead of 8%). Getting healed for more is useful but I think doing 1% more healing always from Haunting Presence is better.

For PvE, you are giving up too much. For PvP, it seems too much as well, being able to cast more Innervates is a great bonus.

RE: Sith Sorcerer Healing Compendium
I agree with this; I've been running this exact build (2 points in Dark Resilience, from Empty Body & the floater) for about a week now on PTS and it seems to be the most comfortable PVE raid spec, as of now. We'll see if GU1.2 gets any more changes before dropping to the live servers.

Why do people put two points into the reduced sac damage? That second point seems to be better in the self healing buff talent. 2% less sac dmg vs 4% more received healing. This doesn't seem like a contest to me.

RE: Sith Sorcerer Healing Compendium
I wonder if Force Surge should be completely dropped, giving us two points there? The only thing Force Surge gives in 1.2 is elimination of the Force regen debuff, which is small potatoes anyway (6 FPS instead of 8 FPS). If we used those points in Dark Resilience, keep both points in Empty Body, we should be in a much better place with our health and more free to use Consumption. It also allows us to put the extra point now in Fadeout.

And again, the silver lining in this is that I will now be using Revivification a lot more, which will make me a better raid healer.

It's the general concept that damage prevention is better. Having to heal yourself less means u get to spam heal ur tank more and have that gcd free to use consumption on hard bosses.

Now all in all I'm not sure to what extent one outweighs the other, so I guess it's a preference of playstyle and personal experience.

Everything helps, more force regen = more force.
Sure it's negligible, but so is that one euro u put back in your pocket when going to the convenience store.

I however am going to try out both of above when 1.2 hits, just to see how it fairs.

Quote: Clearly, we have no real emergency heals, which basically makes it the job of the other two healers - the Operative with their instant and free heals if the target is under 30%, and the merc with an instant heal that can hit for 6k+.
You should be carefull with Healing Numbers from other classes. But i can give you an overview about the healing spells from a Merc from PTS in Full Rakata during a Raid.

Emergency Heals:
Healing Scan (1,5 sec Cast, 8 sec CD) minHit 1,944 maxHit 4,243 Average 2,614
Emergency Scan (Instant Cast, 18 sec CD) minHit 2,205 maxHit 4,272 Average 2,588

Big Heal:
Rapid Scan (2 sec Cast, no CD) minHit 2,760 maxHit 6,120 Average 4,360
