RE: Healing Talent Dissection
(08-11-2011 01:19 AM)Undead Prince Wrote: BTW, do force-restoring abilities fall under DPS, healing, or a category all their own? None of the above, if it's same-class. Normally, restoring one's own force increases one's dps/hps/tps, as it means that you can do more (expensive) things with your time. When a class has specific abilities to restore the force of someone else, it's generically called 'support'. As discussed in the first page of the thread, it is the norm in MMOs for people only be able to afflict one target with each DoT ability, so you won't be able to take much advantage of this. This is not universal, as LotRO allowed multiple DoTs, for instance, but it is common. |

RE: Healing Talent Dissection
Wait, why 24 charges per target? The skillscreen/tooltip says 8 per target, which would make 24 total charges for 3 targets?

RE: Healing Talent Dissection
Apparently I was not awake when I made my posts earlier this afternoon, as mistakes have cropped up all over the place. I'll correct it.

This is not universal, as LotRO allowed multiple DoTs, for instance, but it is common. In WoW, warlocks could curse multiple targets with curses, just not more than 1 curse on the same target, so it was not uncommon to see them with dots on entire enemy teams. The true test would be to determine if characters in Warhammer online can attack multiple targets with dots, and I assume they can. What do you guys think? |

Quote:New Melee Damage / Healer Blend Spec Why would you choose melee DPS over ranged DPS as a Sorcerer? I thought the melee DPS options in Madness were normally for Assassin builds? |

I would get to do more DOT damage, more life draining damage, heal myself periodically, restore force periodically, and still be a decently specced healer and when you hit people with your light saber, you damage without spending lots of force you could be draining hp or healing others with. This will have to be tested, but this build also combines both non pushback abilities and cuts out all of the AOE heal talents so it might not be ideal for raids. |

RE: Healing Talent Dissection
I guess I was just labouring under a misapprehension that Sorcs should avoid melee due to being squishy & optimised for ranged :-)
But I can certainly appreciate a potential melee option for a Sorc, even if it's only secondary to the main focus (either healing or ranged DPS). |

Anyway, if I was a melee class and I was told to "go over there and mess up that sorc, they are a ranged class" and then that sorc opens up a can of melee hurt back on me, I might reconsider and back off. |
