RE: Tank Abilities List
I think you are right. Backhand's threat modifier looks to be multiplicative. So, if I have this right this time, it would be x * (1+ Soresu form) * (1 + Backhand threat mod). Even that might be completely off, 2.25:1 for Backhand alone while other abilities do 1.5.That kind of threat could justify the long cooldown.

So say the backhand/hilt smash damage was 100.

100*[(1.5)*(1.5)] simplify that and we're left with that 2.25 for a total threat of 225. Now unless we've got practical testing going on, which I would love to do, damn invites, we can't really verify which one of these is correct.

However, warcraft doesn't do additive things in their formulas. It's far too easy to get to ridiculous numbers with additive formulas and you're always hitting asymptotic limits with multiplicatives and threat/damage reduction.

I am somewhat worried that the tooltip for Hilt Strike/Backhand is a flat damage percentage, now that might just be taken off a tooltip in game off the spell or something which scales with STR/Weapon Damage, however if it doesn't I'll be quite worried about it's scaling capabilities.
We can have flat +threat modifiers but it would scale better if they were percentage based to begin with. Though of course I could be completely wrong and it's already been verified to be additive!

RE: Tank Abilities List
For threat, I doubt there will be much to worry about, as numbers are very unlikely to become insane. Other stats do seem to have caps though, making it so there is only a certain amount of benefit you can get from wearing gear. Though, it may have changed a bit or even completely in the new build, and without a downloadable client...we pray for beta invites. Meanwhile, back to work on rotation simulator!

RE: Tank Abilities List
I have seen posts referencing threat reduction abilities for DPS / Heal specs but I am curious if there are any threat transferring abilities like a Hunters Misdirect in WoW.

RE: Tank Abilities List
Hmm, seem that in the latest build Jedi Knights have lost the 30% health boost ability, and Warding Call is now 40% DR for 10sec, 3min CD, also they lost the 6% heal, but now have a bubble on Blade Storm, probably for about the same amount of damage Tongue

overall looks like they're trying to bring the tanks more into line with their CD's, so Knights have the big DR from Warding Call, BH's have the health boost and Assassin's have.. I guess either the Defense boost from Deflection, or the CD Healing boost from OCS.

Warriors are now the only class with a personal tool at 31pnts though Tongue Assassin/Shadow have -5% damage, BH/Tpr have -20% accuracy and JK/Juggy's have 40% self DR, selfish Wink

RE: Tank Abilities List
30% health boost abilities werent removed they became baseline but require certain forms/gas cilinders to use (not sure on last part)

6% heal got removed tho and replaced with some really wierd talents.

RE: Tank Abilities List
Oh, I thought the 30% health boost was only made Baseline for Bounty Hunters... that's a bit silly then, why do Warriors STILL have so many tools compared to the other tanks?

and tbh I get the feeling they swapped the heal for a shield that will still be the exact same amount of healing, they just wanted to give it a slightly different flavour. So Assassin's are the 'Heal Tanks' Warriors are the 'Mitigation/Shield' tanks and BH's are the 'I'm covered in like... 20 tons of solid steel, good luck hitting me' tanks.
