Georg Zoeller Leaving Bioware
I figured this would be of special interest to the community here.
According to his Google+ Georg Zoeller has decided to leave BioWare. I can't link to the status because it's not fully public but the quote is: Quote:It's time to say goodbye.... |

RE: Georg Zoeller Leaving Bioware
Read that on a German SWTOR site. He's confirmed it now has he?
It wouldn't seem like an ideal time to be leaving SWTOR, he did seem to be the one person from Bioware at least engaging with the player community. It makes me wonder what is going on behind the scenes, as well as the extent of the subscription losses. We all have to do what we have to do though and family comes first, always. |

RE: Georg Zoeller Leaving Bioware
He was actually seen as a significant issue by a decent part of the community.
He had a very adversarial relationship with us theorycrafters and had a very open attitude that we couldn't show his team anything they didn't already know because they were the source of the info and all our data mining, theorycrafting and simulating didn't mean anything because we didn't have the full source. |

From my viewpoint he had the stance where he didn't want people looking into his black box because we'd find issues/bugs/problems in that black box. Instead of welcoming the community to work on it, he took a very hardlined "we are the developers, you are only gamers, you can't possibly know more than us". That's just my opinion on his stance, and that sort of stance can really alienate some of the brightest members of the community. |

RE: Georg Zoeller Leaving Bioware
Just going to have to inject a /glee into this. Bioware can only be better for his absence.
If you can't tell, I was REALLY not a fan of Mr. Zoeller. Even Angels must kill from time to time...

RE: Georg Zoeller Leaving Bioware
Usually when people leave themselfs - its because the company gave them 2 options.
1. Leave for yourself or 2. We begin the process to fire you. It give them a chance to save face around the industry and leave on their own vs being fired. |
