I'm not surprised that the Rakata one wins out for Lightning, though, that spec definitely has the best Alacrity scaling of the 3. I am wondering what ability the sim is using recklessness for in the madness spec. Ideally the charges should be used with FL as you get more of a bonus (12 ticks) then you would with the initial hit of CD or the hit from dropping Death Field. Is there a way to specify to only use recklessness before 3 FL's and see the result? Actually, we demonstrated a bit back that DF is superior to FL for Recklessness charge use. Part of the reason the Stalker bonus is so powerful for Madness is because having 3 charges allows you more leeway in when to use Recklessness (since DF needs to be off cooldown within 6 seconds rather than 3, modified by Alacrity), allowing you to keep it on cooldown a higher percentage of the time, and thus getting a bit more out of it even ignoring the addition spell being boosted and reduction in the cooldown length. I'm interested to know, how do the three specs compare against each other in straight-from-the-vendor Campaign gear? Interesting. How about in stock Rakata gear? I have a hunch that the game's initial balancing work was affected by the now-known-to-be-very-unoptimal stat balances on launch gear, so if Lightning and Madness are even closer together in Rakata then that should pretty well confirm it. RE: Sorcerer|Sage DPS Compendium - hatterson - 08-05-2012 11:13 AM I'd have to bust out an old version of SimC to really test what stock Rakata was like before some of the patches, but stock Rakata gear in the current environment has Lightning about 2% above Madness. RE: Sorcerer|Sage DPS Compendium - Kaedis - 08-05-2012 07:14 PM Pre-1.2 in stock Rakata had Hybrid superior to both Lightning and Madness, with Lightning behind by the most. If I recall correctly, Hybrid was ~3% ahead of both Madness and Lightning, with Madness ~0.5% ahead of Lightning at the time. Then again, take note that those readings were based on less optimized ability rotations, and older versions of the sims that had had less fixes performed (like the fact that CT has been coded to have 7 ticks since the start, despite only have 6 until ~1.2), so comparisons to current are difficult to make. RE: Sorcerer|Sage DPS Compendium - baconbones - 08-11-2012 01:46 PM I am having a few issues with my Sorc/Madness DPS output now if anyone can give me some advice that would be wonderful. Now with the gear i have i assume i should be getting 1500-1800dps but things seem to be only hitting around the 1200-1500dps rate now is it because of the lack of power or crit ? or could it be rotation related ? Recently i changed implants and some mods to get rid of alacrity for power/crit but things seem to be on the low side now a few people are getting annoyed because my DPS is at a lower rate than what they would like it at. 3/7/31 is my skill tree My player's gear/name some mods have been changed so double check to see what i am using. http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/04d7478d-a621-46bb-9c22-9cb0db89c3df RE: Sorcerer|Sage DPS Compendium - dipstik - 08-11-2012 06:47 PM i notice you are usign high endurance versions of mods and enhancements. dont do that. the enhancements with 22 power and 45 end... those shoudl be 41 power. so your power looks pretty low, but your other stats look pretty good. dont use the low crit versions of mods either, since you want to maximize you surge+alacrity+crit+power+willpower pool... not your enducance pool. Thanks for the reply some how the wrong mods/enchancements were listed with Mr robot all has been corrected and now this is a 100% dupe of my player. RE: Sorcerer|Sage DPS Compendium - Kaedis - 08-11-2012 09:34 PM Your gear looks solid, I would wager it's rotational based. What are you using for an ability priority? Could latency be having an effect? How are you testing your DPS? Testing on the fleet dummy 2. start off with attack adrenl, then FL getting wrath to put up CD then affliction ( keeping it up at all times aswell ) just when CD finishes i do DF followed by CT when ever recklessness is up i use it and if CD is on cooldown i use LS (with wrath ) CT = Creeping Terror CD = Crushing Darkness FL = Force Lightning DF = Death Field LS = Lightning Strike Now I know you said my build looks solid when it benefit with more power over crit ? |
