RE: SW/JK General Information | Simple Questions and Answers - Kaedis - 04-30-2012 02:58 PM Quote:My (force) accuracy is at 115%, and I'm told this is for all of my extra attacks such as Ravage, Massacre, ect which would mean it only needs 110%. There are 3 types of accuracy: Force/Tech accuracy, Melee/Ranged Basic accuracy, and Melee/Ranged Special accuracy. The character sheet lists the first two by default, you must mouse over the accuracy tooltip on the Melee or Ranged tab to see the last one. Force/Tech accuracy obviously dictates your chance of striking an opponent with a Force or Tech attack. Base chance is 100%, however, and no targets that we know of (excepting a pair of talents on the stealthing classes and one of the tanking set bonuses, all 2%) possess any resistance to Force or Tech attacks, so accuracy is functionally useless for Force/Tech. Melee is subdivided into Basic and Special. Basic attacks are the resource-free attack you start with (in the case of warriors, Assault). All other Melee and Ranged attacks are considering special. The only differences between these two categories is that Basic attacks have a base accuracy of 90%, while Special ones have a base accuracy of 100%. PvE boss targets possess 10% defense in addition to this, so you'll need a total of +10% accuracy (displayed as 100% accuracy on the character screen, since it shows your Basic accuracy) to never miss against a boss with Special attacks, and +20% accuracy (110% displayed) to never miss with Basic attacks. It generally isn't worth going past the Special cap, and for some classes it isn't even worth hitting the Special cap. Thank you, you're amazing. This just made my life so freaking easy. RE: SW/JK General Information | Simple Questions and Answers - Rakunvar - 05-01-2012 08:15 AM Error post moving question to Mechanic forum. RE: SW/JK General Information | Simple Questions and Answers - kareth - 05-16-2012 06:50 AM So I've read everything I could on stacking augments and am still confused. I thought I had it figured out and that I should definitely go with Power over Strength, but then read something different, which is that people are stacking Might augments for the extra crit and that by doing so they can remove a Crit Enhancement from their gear and take an extra Power Enhancement in its place. Has anyone done the math on this to figure out if it works and determined if this is the optimal way to augment gear? Would love to know![/align] RE: SW/JK General Information | Simple Questions and Answers - Kaedis - 05-16-2012 08:06 AM For every class in the game (as far as I've seen thus far), primary stats are always better than Power (by about 10%), particularly for DPS. I see no reason why this should be different for Warriors. RE: SW/JK General Information | Simple Questions and Answers - kareth - 05-16-2012 08:21 AM Thank you, that resonates with what I was surmising based on the shape of the curves. I'm embarrassed that my calculus skills have degraded to the point that I can't do the Breakeven analysis myself ![]() (05-16-2012 08:06 AM)Kaedis Wrote: For every class in the game (as far as I've seen thus far), primary stats are always better than Power (by about 10%), particularly for DPS. I'm embarrassed that my calculus skills have degraded to the point that I can't do the Breakeven analysis myself If it makes you feel better, trying to compute that point explicitly and formulaically is rather hideous. I'm not sure I could do it myself, and I just changed majors after my third year as a physics/applied math student... I'm keeping tabs on the game, but I'm not really playing it much anymore. TERA has consumed my soul. RE: SW/JK General Information | Simple Questions and Answers - Comalv - 05-20-2012 07:26 PM I also do have a simple question regarding Marauders/Sentinels. I just rolled one after having a Darkness Assassin and a Rage Juggernaut. I specced Annihilation (Watchman). The question(s) are entirely for a PVP point-of-view (however since they are fairly simple I don't want to create a separate thread in the pvp section). -Is accuracy useful at all (ie: for having a higher chance to hit with the offhand since you also spec +36% dmg with it?), or is it just better to go full surge as I don't care about PvE with this char? Of course on both my other toons I have 0 items with accuracy and I am totally happy about it -Is it still better to equip only +Strength/+Power modifications leaving crit to almost 0 like for my other toons? For Rage Jugg it's obvious because of guaranteed crit on Smash and that is all it needs to do, for the Assassin I followed some basic calculations on my own + this thread, and I am totally happy with only having +88 Crit Rating from implants. For the Marauder however I keep seeing a lot of very good players with some crit mixed to power and I am wondering if they just could be even better if they geared full power or if I am missing something RE: SW/JK General Information | Simple Questions and Answers - TheDarkness - 06-01-2012 12:47 AM Does the Overpower talent (2 rage for a Vicious Slash critical) have 2 chances to generate extra rage for the dual wielders? On 2 criticals, does it generate 4 rage? |
