Does this mean that the Ataru proc from Blade Rush is independent of the Ataru internal cooldown? I saw a brief discussion of this in the Carnage discipline discussion thread, but that seemed to assume that it _was_ on the internal cooldown, which would mean you're trading 80% of an Ataru proc for 100% of an Ataru proc.

It can double proc only with Blade Rush. If you run up to a mob with full rage, and just spam Blade Rush, you'll see on a few occasions that Ataru hits twice.

Based on Ezmode's spreadsheet the best spec for a Sentinel in full Rakata seems to be Watchman right now. Is that correct? The previous version showed Combat being ahead by about 100 DPS, now it lags behind by 200.

I've played Combat from level 10 to getting my Infernal title, now it seems I should be learning a new spec.

You should consider the utility coming out of Watchman/Annihilation anyways. The overall DPS doesn't lag behind at all - looking at hard numbers or not - and the team utility you get is amazing. In both environments - PvP and PvE, the Heal over Time that Watchmen get is clutch. In a PvP setting, the defensive buffs from the talent tree are invaluable, too.

Not to mention the quantity of interrupts you get in Annihilation.

From a PvE perspective... I'm not concerned with utility. It's nice to have, but if our healers can't keep up nothing from Watchman is going to fix it. If Watchman does more DPS, great, a little extra healing won't hurt. If not, Combat is the best choice.

Similarly, I don't need to interrupt so often that Watchman would make a difference.

Whether your healers can keep up or not is not the point, you can save them some time and energy/heat/whatever by doing a little extra HoT on people that are not full life, in Nightmare Mode I can tell you that 2 Annihilation Marauders make our healers very happy. And for the moment, I get more dps with my Annihilation spec than with my Carnage spec (almost full Rakata).

From a purely PvE perspective, you're quite right. There are Jarg&Sorno that need to be interrupted a lot, but this is the only one. But since Jeanne-Guardian was mentioning both environments, this one was more of a PvP bonus.

RE: SW/JK General Information | Simple Questions and Answers - Watch - 03-15-2012 07:04 AM

Hey all quick question , im play a jedi sentinel watchman speck , and im not sure if this is a talent specific thing , but with force sweep it doesn't stun or knock down just dose damage. But playing against sith warriors ive been knocked down and stunned by there equivalent ability smash just wondering what i was missing thanks in advanced.?

No you have not.
You have most likely being "knocked down" by Intimidating Roar. For you as a Jedi Knight, I think it's called Awe.

Other option would be, it's not Sith Warriors you are talking about.

RE: Marauder- Teach me how to Rage - Ezekiel - 03-16-2012 04:39 AM

At the moment I play a Rage Marauder. Now I havn't done much PVE, but from what I have read on the PVE rage it stands correct in comparison to what I do for PVE.
Now, I havn't seen much on Rage PVP, so I'd like to share with you my observation of Rage PVP. Now, this is all based on my observation and experience. I'd appreciate advice and areas in which I am wrong or if I missed important information.

Almost every single WZ I am top damage. (Not to gloat, but to show how effective Rage is for PVP). For PVP there is no standard rotation, but more of a priority. I don't use vicious slash often due to myself constantly using other abilities. I also do not use Rupture at all. It's a nice quick dot, but it's a waste of rage. I'd like to explain each skill in detail and in importance. I won't post all my tricks and such, because I believe each player should experience themselves in their own ways in leveling and trying out different specs, but I will explain Rage from my Point of View.

-Let me first explain the importance of Smash and ShockWave and how they both work. Smash is a decent AE ability that does a decent amount of damage, but when used correctly in Rage, Smash can be the hardest attack on your bars. Smash is benefited by a couple of things: Dark Resonance (Increases Crit Damage by 30%), ShockWave (Gained by Force Choke or Force crush, each stack gives Smash x25%. Possibility of 100% Smash damage) , and Dominate (When you Force Charge/Obliterate it makes your next Smash an auto Crit). So next time you are around 4-5 Republic Dogs or traitorous Imperials be sure to Power Trinket and use this Overpowered Smash and watch a plethora of high crits be unleashed on your opponents.

- Always use Force Crush when it's up, this gives you a total of 6 possible chances at ShockWave and it's a decent slow. (You can only have 4 at a time so be sure to time it just right if you'd like an extra stack or two.)

-Vicious Throw is your Execute so be sure to use it on folks with 20%- health. It has a 10m range so it's nice for Backpedalers.

-Deadly Throw gives a healing debuff which is key when fighting anyone with a pesky healer around. (Or the healer itself)

-You have 2 jumps one is 1-10m range (Obliterate) the other 10-30m I believe (Force Charge). With this you have a possibility to catch up to your opponent or straight up stop them in their tracks. Obliterate does give you a speed bonus as well so it's a nice tool against S-Keyin' runners. Now, against Agents/Smugglers it sucks that you can't jump to them Sad BUT! I have news for you! Obliterate works for cowards in cover! Yes, simply get in range pop a defensive cool down to counter any damage that you may face reaching your target and Obliterate and jump to your opponent in cover. Now, I do this all the time, but I do find Force Charge more suitable. To use Force Charge against Covered Cowards be sure to Force Choke them first (This brings them out of cover and vulnerable to charges now 8) ) and have at them.

-Force choke is useful to gain ShockWave stacks, but it's also a channeled stun which can be useful in sticky situations. Whether it be a covered enemy like I stated above, a poor sap running through a fire vent, stopping a cast, objective, or the ball carrier. I use Force Crush for my ShockWave charges and save Force Choke for the reasons above, because every time I need Force Choke it's on CD cause I used it for quick ShockWave Charges.

-Fury/Predation. Now this is pretty huge. I used to be Fury hungry at a lower level, but now I am constantly fed Fury like it's no big deal. I constantly use Predation and use Bloodthirst when attacking a group or objective. Predation is nice because of a couple of things: Damage reduction and movement speed bonus. When Predation ends it gives you 5 or 10 stacks of Fury (depending on your talent set up) which also you can build stacks of Fury while Predation is active. Sometimes when Predation ends I am at 15-22 stacks of Fury! So it's a nice boost there. Usually I pop Bloodthirst when at 30 stacks , then Frenzy, then Predation. Just a constant roll of Fury.

I agree with Morsexier in that Accuracy is completely useless and on how Surge/Crit is no where near as powerful as power. Rage has it's own Crit/Surge built into the tree. (Dark Resonance, Malice, Dominate) As well as it's armor penetration. (Shii-Cho Mastery) With my Marauder I stack Power and use Power trinkets, since crit/surge isn't really needed.

I believe that is all I have to say about Rage PVP. If you'd like to know more or have any questions please ask or challenge me. I am always open to hearing new ideas and areas I need improvement. I appreciate you taking the time to reading this and increase your knowledge of Rage PVP. Good luck in your adventures and keep on playing Warrior Smile
