In 8m NiM the Marking Missile+Rail Shot doesn't oneshot people. Leaves them around 20-30%HP if I remember correctly.

As a healer in 16 man Nightmare, I was able to "guess" who got targeted with the first part of the combo by seeing who took damage during the Jarg burn phase. It was not ideal, but basically I would target whoever took damage and cleanse them as soon as possible, hoping to prevent their imminent death. This seemed to work pretty well for us, as we only got one person killed last night. However, since I was just guessing, it's possible that people were just living through it through cooldowns or high health, or the boss was messing up and not targeting the same person with both attacks as someone else mentioned.

the hell is going on with this boss on nightmare, they used to be no problem

maybe its just diversion and surge nerfs hurting

but that railshot....argh, they need to fix that...

I'm about 95% sure bioware ninja-buffed nightmare last week (week before the surge update).

Damage increase on Jarg/Sorno
Damage/rate of fire increase on Annihilators AoE (makes it REALLY hard even in rakata gear for us)
Damage increase on foreman crusher's aoe knockback
HUGE damage increase on karagga's aoe missiles and spikes (spikes were nailing me for 8k last week)

This week and last week we had a lot of issues on nightmare. Still got both titles for people who hadn't had them, so not *that* many issues, but it was noticeably harder than it's ever been, and even in full rakata gear we struggled on a few fights (Jarg/Sorno and Annihilator AoE especially. 1 shot both but it was *close*)

We can definitely confirm that for nightmare Karagga. Cluster Bombs suddenly become a major mechanic to deal with.

RE: Jarg and Sorno - Verux - 02-23-2012 11:39 AM

Can confirm the Buff, watched videos from our older kills compared to this week for Nightmare modes.
Annihidroid 16 man : 1 missle every 2 seconds Exactly, this week 1 missle every 1.5 seconds
Karagga Cluster bombs hit for about 25% more
Crusher Aoe Knockback now drops us to 15% instead of 35%

Donno if this has been said,

But at least in nightmare if you kill Jarg while Sorno is up on the balcony the probes despawn and Sorno jumps down straight away.

So when Sorno jumps up the second time, we just kill the probe that is on the jarg tank and then nuke Jarg untill hes dead which is before Sorno comes back

Our solution for the rail shots this week worked incredibly well, but does seem to rely on a certain comp.

For our 16 man nightmare attempt last night, we actually had a fifth healer (an extra sage, giving us two). Just before we got into Railshot range, we had our sage healers go from raid heals to bubble mode, assigning two groups to each sage.

This effectively increases everyone's hitpoints by 25-35%, creating a great cushion for the Railshots.

Normally we try the method of burning down Jarg quickly and just healing through Sorno's enrage, but because of our extra healer I opted for the slow and steady pace because I thought our DPS might be a bit behind. Not only did the bubbling work, we dropped both of them within 1% of each other, and had everyone alive at the end.

You can probably still get away with this with four healers if two are sages.. .you can probably even do it with one if they are good at managing Force (one sage can bubble the entire 16 man raid and have the debuff falling off the first person near the time they've bubbled the last player). Either way, it worked well for us.

Sorc bubble is about 3k hp. That's not going to be near 25-35% of someone's hp who belongs in a Nightmare mode.

Is it only 3k? Always felt about 4-5kish. Regardless, the method works and the bubble gives you the breathing room you need.
