RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Kantern - 02-19-2012 01:14 AM How is the gear on these DPS rankings? With telekinetics in the running is it possible that alacrity will play a bigger part now? I know its still not the most ideal stat, but the tree does have a lot more hard casts. Maybe it will scale better with the benefits? RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - frmorrison - 02-19-2012 02:18 AM (02-19-2012 12:22 AM)CaseyTheRetard Wrote:(02-18-2012 08:00 PM)Kor Wrote: Ouch, so puts the 31-point specs technically on top of the heap, but 3 of the 4 primary specs (31-lightning, 31-madness, and 13/28) well within the error bars of each other. I like it. Sadly, it's the deathknell for the Effusion build, but oh well. Having a Niche spec would be nice if dual spec comes out in 1.2, but with March around the corner it may be in 1.3. Note Sorcerers were not the only class that could double dip on buffs (BH can too), but it was the one that gave the most dps. RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Lucai - 02-19-2012 02:36 AM Interestingly if they fix the double dipping bug, crit (and surge indirectly) becomes a much less desired stat for 0/13/28. Crit is an even worse stat for the 31 point builds (compared to post nerf 0/13/28). ![]() Other stats used: 1321 Willpower, 331 Alacrity, 1224 Forcepower, 233 Surge (1 Alacrity is still better than 1 Surge with these stats) RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Deamill - 02-19-2012 06:12 AM So if they fix the double-dipping "bug" does that mean the 31 point tree's will even out with 13/28 or become better since that's really the only reason it's ahead? Especially 31madness since you can still ignore alacrity for the most part? RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Kaedis - 02-19-2012 07:39 AM Quote:Here's the "HeavyMovement" results (4 seconds of moving every 10 seconds): Hmm, based on this, I would say that 13/28 is still arguably ahead overall, as it loses significantly less damage during heavy movement phases than the 31-point builds. RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Tyrus - 02-19-2012 08:09 AM I am currently experimenting a little bit on various Relics and Simulationcraft, with my current Hybrid spec: Assuming the following stats: Base Willpower: 250 + 40 (datacrons) BIS Items: Code: # Gear SummaryCode: head=rakata_force_master_headgear,stats=44sta_61willpower_37sta_61willpower_11Power_24sta_37Power_51AlacritySimulationcraft is giving me the following results: Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Rakata Relic of the Primeval Fatesealer : 1269.4 DPS Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Rakata Relic of Forbidden Secrets : 1271.9 DPS Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Rakata Relic of Boundless Ages : 1288.5 DPS If you don't have artifice as a crew skill: Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Columi Relic of the Primeval Fatesealer : 1269.4 DPS Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Columi Relic of Forbidden Secrets : 1271.6 DPS Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Columi Relic of Boundless Ages : 1286.5 DPS Conclusion: Rakata Relics are not worth it without an augment slot. I also wanted to compare the previous results with the "new" procs relics: Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Relentless Winds : 1291.1 DPS Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Volatile Energy Module : 1285.3 DPS Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Plasma Burst Device : 1301.3 DPS Finally let's drop our Matrix to pick the best 2 other Relics: Plasma Burst Device + Rakata Relic of Boundless Ages : 1298.7 DPS All endgame Relics are fairly close, but the highest DPS with minimal effort would go to: Matrix Cube M7-R3 + Plasma Burst Device : 1301.3 DPS Plasma Burst Device + Rakata Relic of Boundless Ages is a very good alternative, especially when you need to save your trinket for a burst phase. RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Kantern - 02-19-2012 08:47 AM Has the math been done for Dark Surge vs Plasma Burst relics? I know Dark Surge has lower damage but it is internal. RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Tyrus - 02-19-2012 08:59 AM (02-19-2012 08:47 AM)Kantern Wrote: Has the math been done for Dark Surge vs Plasma Burst relics? I know Dark Surge has lower damage but it is internal. The current 4 ilvl 140 proc relics are: relentless_winds: 224 proc - Kinetic energy_surge_device: 224 proc - Elemental plasma_burst_device: 168 proc - Energy dark_energy_surge: 168 proc - Internal To my knowledge: Both Kinetic and Energy are affected by armor, meaning that Relentless Winds and Energy Surge are basically the same. Both Elemental and Internal are not affected by armor, meaning that Plasma Burst Device and Dark Energy Surge are basically the same. Edit: Thanks Kor, fixed to avoid confusion. RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Kaedis - 02-19-2012 09:11 AM Quote:Both Kinetic and Elemental are affected by armor, meaning that Relentless Winds and Energy Surge are basically the same. Other way around. Kinetic and Energy are affected by armor, Internal and Elemental are not. You also mixed up the damage types. Plasma Burst deals Elemental, Volatile Energy deals Energy, Relentless Winds deals Kinetic, and Dark Energy deals internal. This actually doesn't change your conclusion, though. It's really a question of whether 168 damage bypassing armor is better than 224 damage not. This would depend somewhat on what level of Internal/Elemental damage reduction boss targets have, which to my knowledge has yet to be tested. Yet another thing to add to the list of stuff I need to test tomorrow night. RE: Madness/Balance Sorcerer DPS Compendium - Deamill - 02-20-2012 02:32 AM So the Plasma Burst Device says it proc's of "damaging attacks" do we know yet if it proc's off Dot's as well or just casted abilities. We haven't seen this beauty yet so I can't test it but I'm first in line for it so I'm just curious. |
