So since Op has biochem just as myself, im beginning to wonder if its the best craftingskill for us tanks or if there is anything else thats just as valid? or is it too early to tell? What arguments are pro/con against biochem? thankful for any answers!

I would have chosen Biochem, but mostly for the sheer fact that I hate stacking up potions and such. But due to high end schematics dopping in operations, we split out profession between officers, gm etc in the guild to make sure the first schematic would stay in the guild, even with jumpers.

From what I've deducted, is there no real BiS profession, as long as we stay within the range of actual beneficial proffs - synthweaving Biochem, artifice etc..

Though, the bis schematics that drops, craft BoE's - while the extra benefit from Biochem seems like the only direct boost we can substain after BoP crafter gear has been replaced with ops gear.

So in terms of that, yes, Biochem does seems like the best proffession for us tanks.

I've gone Cybertech & the DOT grenades help generate a little extra AE threat which isn't great for us at the moment. Biochem seems the way to go though for progression as you will save a fortune on consumables.

A thought about stat priority:

I find it interesting that sonic barrier scales off of the force healing bonus. If so, doesn't this mean that the Power stat would increase the size of the bubble, and thus have a (small) mitigation component to it?

If so, wouldn't that improve the value of that stat over accuracy? Or, is our threat lead so sketchy that in a boss fight the threat gain from Accuracy over Power would be justified?

I haven't done a comparison on equipment yet, so I don't know what trade-offs exist between Power and Accuracy, if any.

i hope you mean smash instead of Force Scream at this point considering sith warrior? Or what debuff?

And Thanks a lot for that compendium!

Well, I would need to do some calculations on it, but it will have to wait till after my paper is due (tomorrow).

But Accuracy is both threat and survivability*, which is true for power aswell, if your thesis are correct,
*since Accuracy ensures af steady hit flow with our base attacks. ie. steady resources.

It also comes to play that once you are Acc capped, that for pure survivability, the stat cost of power, in terms of survivability, is pretty bad, since it is only active 20%/min.
So for Power to equalize itself in terms of stat weight, you would have to prioritize threat.

Of course I do Tongue Ty for pointing it out, [Fixed]

Do you have any tips for obtaining some of the BiS gear that you mentioned? Obviously 3 pieces are commendation gear and the matrix cubes are self explanatory. I'm more curious about what mats I will need and where to find some of the gear you marked as NA for the source? I checked torhead.com and they don't have a lot of this information yet. Thanks.

A couple notes about the PreRaid BiS, and getting geared quickly.

The bracers listed are purchased with credits in Illum, 48K I believe.

I know the list says it is not including all the crafted pieces, but there are some real nice crafted pieces that we should be shooting for.

Synth Bracers - http://www.torhead.com/schematic/ag4mEqr

Synth Belt - http://www.torhead.com/schematic/ajtg4V8

The Mats really aren't that bad to get together if you or a Guildy is a Synthweaver with the proper supporting skills. So we should start working towards them quickly.

Illum + Balsavis have Daily Quests, the commendations can be used for Hilts, Armoring Mods or Ear Pieces and Implants. Early on you might get the best bang for your buck with some Armoring Mods on your current customizable pieces. The Ear and Implants are not cheap. The First day of Daily's you can Grab an Epic Guardian Hilt for your Saber. So, Start Belsavis and Illum ASAP when hitting 50.

Also, I know it will probably be replaced fairly quickly but there are some nice PVP Tank pieces that we can start saving up for even before you hit 50. If you do any PVP while leveling the warzone commendations can be turned into Mercenary at a 3 to 1 ratio, to start buying Champions Bags. You can increase your item levels real quick doing this. I have been lvl 50 since this past Sunday, and I already have 2 Epic PVP Tanking pieces. The expertise is useless, but they are still a major upgrade over anything you have when hitting 50. Very easy to obtain.

I'd like to know what do you think of the guardian hybrid build (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=1780)?

I'm lvl 33 atm. I discovered this hybrid build a few days ago and found it to be a little bit easier for leveling. But I'd like to know if it's viable for heroic flashpoints and operations or not.
