Most of this has been discussed in the last 2-5 pages a lot if you are wondering. Yeah I thought it was rather interesting. I was using your spec tonight with 2/3 burnout and I could tell a difference when DOTs were ticking under 30% for sure. RE: Powertech/Vanguard DPS Compendium - blott - 02-21-2012 05:19 PM yeah I really like the 2/3 burnout with the huge boost to aim with the 3/3 steely is just great. I think we will just see it pull further and further away once we get better gear also, as the 9% aim increase is just going to be bigger and bigger and bigger. I see them changing the talents though before it gets too silly. RE: Powertech/Vanguard DPS Compendium - Hemi - 02-21-2012 06:31 PM with full rakata gear 2/3 -> 3/3 gives ~58 aim w/ raid buffs. from 1926 to 1984 RE: Powertech/Vanguard DPS Compendium - blott - 02-21-2012 07:11 PM did you not include a stim in your raid buffs or something? just seems low for aim totals... RE: Powertech/Vanguard DPS Compendium - Hemi - 02-21-2012 08:09 PM its with rakata stim. knowing that exotech gives more aim should be somewhere near 2k i think ~2k is ok for 5/5 rakata, T3 mh/oh, 2 rakata implants, matrix relic and crit cybertech ear with 28 aim augment. also 2x 58 aim armorings/mods for belt/wrists will give aprox. +30 aim. so total should be ~2050. is it low? =D RE: Powertech/Vanguard DPS Compendium - Rooks - 02-22-2012 06:17 PM Off topic slightly, but how are people feeling about their Van/PT DPS vs other DPS classes? I am reaching a point where as Assault, I feel a tad outclassed by most other DPS specs, and Tactics feels even more behind Assault. Gunslingers and Commandos are destroying mobs (they finish our Council fights in 2/3rds the time I do). I am not one to cry for buffs, my spec, gear and rotation are fine... but Bioware promised a 5% differential between 'true' DPS classes and DPS classes like Vanguard/Powertech.. and it doesn't feel like 5%. Yes, I like that I can throw on Ion Cell and be a hero sometimes, but most of the time.. it is my job to DPS, and I feel like we're lagging behind. How are others finding they compare to their fellow DPS? (Maybe I am surrounded by too many Gunslingers and Commandos) RE: Powertech/Vanguard DPS Compendium - blott - 02-22-2012 07:29 PM (02-22-2012 06:17 PM)Rooks Wrote: Off topic slightly, but how are people feeling about their Van/PT DPS vs other DPS classes? I would say that I feel like I am on par with the other melee classes, and for sure behind most ranged. But I feel the melee vs. range thing is a different issue I dunno if its more to do with the way the other classes are tweaked atm or if we really are still kinda behind on which spec is top where as most of those classes already have a set with rotation for winning.I am also not one to cry or even really bother to post on the swtor forums about things as well but the fact that Pyro's top tier skill is a dps loss just bothers me. I haven't done EV this week yet and I cant say I remember from last week when I finished in comparison to the other dps really, I will try to pay a little more attention to it this week to see where I fall in compared to other melee. Gunslingers and Commandos are destroying mobs (they finish our Council fights in 2/3rds the time I do). I really think the oposite. As a Pyrotech doing PvP with a mix of BM and Rakata gear i can easily 1x1 almoast every class in the game. First, since i lack charge as a PT, i start with the ranged skills (Immolate and Thermal Detonator) and yes i love TD. When i have all my CDs up (including Relic and Adrenal) TD and Rail shot crit for about 4.2k, almost at the same time due to my skill order. so thats 8k plues the ticks from immolate, Gas Cilinder i can deal massive amount of DPS. But since you were mentioning PvE, were doing HM (KP + EV under 2-3hours) and gearing up for NM. Im always the first or second to kill same HP (or even the ones with 108k before they finish the 70k) mob that a Operative, sorc and Sniper. I dont know if they are weak, but i really feel that PT Pirotech is strong atm. But we will need a Combat log to check on that Now for Advanced Prototype, this is broken. Its really good to way to keep your heat low, but thats all, they def need to buff to encourage ppl using that tree. (btw i still gotta test a couple more APT build, but tested 2-3 already) Sorry for my grammar mystakes and poor english. Sadly I think you are right about the PVP thing, we are one of the stronger PVP hybrids which makes me think it will be hard for bioware to think they should buff our dps in PVE. We dont have any channelled abilities that are important for us and we dont rely on range or melee. If you are fighting vs a range, pull him, if you are fighting vs a melee, stun and kite him at ~10 meters. With 4 rakata combat tech and 1 battlemaster gear, champion, bracer, belt and battlemaster accessory, you have about 430 expertise, with additional 8% high impact bolt damage. At least from my perspective, we deal tons of damage. |
