General
  • Uses Force as a resource.
  • Base Force regen is 8 per second, in and out of combat.
  • Base Force pool is 100.
  • Wears light armor.
  • Core stat is Willpower, granting both force and melee damage bonuses.
  • Has both melee and short range attacks.
  • Comparably strong on baseline CC options.
  • Comparably weak on baseline defensive options.
  • Initial companion is a melee tank.
  • Class buff increases primary stats and resistances.

Advanced Class: Sith Sorcerer | Jedi Sage
  • Caster variant with options for long-range dps or healing.
  • Base Force pool increased to 500 (regen rate remains the same), functioning similar to Mana in other games.
  • Uses a single-bladed lightsaber with Willpower.
  • Uses a force focus offhand for additional stats.
  • Gains many additional ranged attacks and healing abilities.
  • Most ranged abilities increased to 30 yard range.
  • Uses lightning or telekinetic attacks for damage.
  • Has several HoTs or absorption shield style heals.

  • Compendiums: Lightning DPS | Madness DPS | Corruption Healing

Advanced Class: Sith Assassin | Jedi Shadow
  • Melee variant with options for short-range dps or tanking.

  • Uses either a force focus offhand for additional stats or a shield generator offhand for additional survivability.

  • Tanking style designed around offsetting slightly lower mitigation with self-healing and increased shield chance.

I'll be playing a Smuggler, but I will test this as well over the weekend with Vital Shot to see if there are any differences between classes or something like that (unlikely, but with a new MMO, you never know)

Will do, Lanfear, though I will be floored if stacking mechanics (or even just Subversion) worked significantly differently than it does in WoW (and Rift, for that matter). I would think that if they were keeping track of the stack timers separately, it wouldn't be noted as 'stacking'. It would probably say something like "can be applied up to 3 times simultaneously" or "up to three Subversion effects may be active at the same time" or similar. 'Stacking' has a certain meaning in MMO community (actually, to be honest, in the whole RPG community) that I seriously doubt if Bioware would contradict.

Does Affliction tick on apply or just after 3 sek? (Im going madness so nice to know with the death field (it only has 10 charges) )
And is the first damage done by Crushing Darkness counted as a dot tick (dont think so)

Also.

Does a talented force Lightening do twice the damage of a talented shock or more? (in cases I need a filler Im unsure if I should use Force Lightening for 1.5s and then stop it or if I should use shock.

For instance 1.5s until Crushing Death comes off CD, should I use Forde Lightening for 1.5s or a shock, basically. Force isnt a problem

Assuming you mean Darkness, a 3-stack FL will almost certainly do more damage than an energised Shock. That said, you almost certainly won't use Crushing Darkness if you have Harnessed Darkness, so I'm not quite sure about your question. If you go Madness instead of Darkness, you probably won't use Force Lightning anyway.

Regardless, as you hint at, one of FL's great advantages over Shock in a Darkness Assassin rotation is the opportunity for Force regeneration during the extra GCDs. Cutting FL short is a waste - especially after 1.5s, as you might as well wait at least another 0.5s for the second tick.

Im sorcerer not assassin (my bad for not pointing that out) and Im going madness


-I mean casting FL for 1.5s and then stopping the channel because Crushing Darkness becomes ready (only had to cast something in the 1.5s gap before it was ready again). So Im wondeirng if that would do more damage then a talented shock (because it takes the same amount of time before I can cast Crushing Darkness (again, if I stop FL after 1.5s))

Does Affliction tick as it is applied or only after 3 sek.

Does Crushing Darkness ticks every sek? Theres a talent that extends its duration by 1 and 2 sek. Cant see a reason for the first talent to be there if it didnt make it tick an extra time

FL hits thrice. As far as we can tell, it works identically to an untalented Arcane Missiles. Pulses 3 times. I'll double-check the tick count and pulse interval, though.
