Bounty Hunter PVP - Stevo - 09-16-2011 07:59 AM Just thought I would post this as I haven't seen it posted yet. Finally a pvp video with someone that appears to know what their doing in an MMO. Found this on betafootage.com. http://betafootage.com/level-50-powertech-huttball-footage-credits-to-supride29/ Level 50 Shieldtech Bounty Hunter Hutball PVP game. You get to see some good quality gameplay as well as a serious ass kicking from a bounty hunter. Props to the uploader. RE: Bounty Hunter PVP - Sol - 09-16-2011 09:58 AM This guy is actually a Prototype build with some points into shieldtech. Also while he kick's some ass he is beating on level 10-20 for the most part. There is only 1 or 2 players above level 40 that he goes up against. While health pools are the same the utility, abilities & skills he brings to the fight will completely outclass any lower level opponent which you can see when he takes on 4 at once and kills the lot. Not to mention he completely outgears everyone else in the game. Great video howevr it would pay to take what you see with a good pinch of salt imo... RE: Bounty Hunter PVP - guardian17 - 09-16-2011 12:25 PM The video is good, you can see how the advanced prototype of the powertech plays. Seems to be quite a strong class although all the newbs kind of skew things. RE: Bounty Hunter PVP - Kyuubi - 09-21-2011 12:19 AM At least it was a decent video to look at. RE: Bounty Hunter PVP - Rising - 09-25-2011 06:32 AM Not to mention that whenever he's in trouble, his teammates always seem to show up in time and back him up. He was the highest level character, in a very well organized team. His only threat was a level 42 that almost killed him once, but he ran away. Other than that it was basically men against boys. RE: Bounty Hunter PVP - guardian17 - 10-19-2011 12:51 PM Here is my powertech pvp build. http://torguild.net/calculator/bounty-hunter/powertech/?p=221120220122321112310200000000000000002300030000000000000 RE: Bounty Hunter PVP - Sol - 10-19-2011 07:43 PM My build is very similar but I will be taking jet charge. As predominantly melee I think a second closer is better than another dps ability, which we have plenty of imo. This is what I'll be trying. For me keeping on target is the biggest issue whenever playing a melee so I'll want to minimise those CD's as much as possible. If it turns out that it really isn't required I'll definitely be going pretty much the exact same spec as above but maxing out but like this . Closing the gap is not a problem with harpoon, hold the line, and cryo grenade. Not to mention all the 30 yard range abilities vanguard/bhunter has. My original plan was just like yours, to get charge. Once I got it, it was underwhelming. The 31 point talent which I recommend getting instead has a HUGE benefit, and that is that it makes stockstrike/rocket punch free. This means you can use Fire Pulse, then use stockstrike/rocket punch right afterwards and it does not suck up your ammo. This makes the 31 point talent a must have. Also, prototype cylinder ventilation is a MUST HAVE talent. Gaining 1 ammo/venting 8 heat per 6 seconds goes such a long way towards resource management, its one of the best talents in the entire tree. I noticed you skipped it, which is a big mistake. RE: Bounty Hunter PVP - Sol - 10-20-2011 07:11 AM Interesting. I'll definitely give it a try and see how it turns out as what you say makes sense. Prototype Cylinder was also on the list to jig stuff around if I really found myself lacking heat, I just found that it wasn't so bad at low levels and managed it quite well with reload. If it becomes such an issue than yes, I agree it would become a must as it takes eternity to regen from base heat. Is Fire Bug of any use in PVP, my build is going to be: http://torguild.net/calculator/bounty-hunter/powertech/?p=003000000000000000003203202212032320310320002000000000000 I have not played in beta so don't know if it is effective |
