RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - moneda - 12-02-2011 02:11 PM As a small heads-up, Alxon, you may want to use the TORHead calculator, as at least one ability in the Corruption tree on the TORGuild calculator is out of date. This is your build on TORHead. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - Kaedis - 12-02-2011 03:17 PM Incidentally, that's essentially identical to the PvE madness build we've been kicking around, except trading Lingering Nightmares for Haunted Dreams. It's a solid build. Might be worth getting the DoT damage decrease, however. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - -IR- - 12-07-2011 02:53 PM Here's a couple builds that I was looking into. This one is a build for a dedicated Corruption PvP Healer that uses the combination of Conspiring Force + Exsanguinate to be able to escape danger and thus increase survivability. I'm still wondering a little bit if it would be worth it to go and grab Fadeout instead of Sith Defiance but I'm a sucker for almost being a healertank. http://torguild.net/calculator/sith-inquisitor/sorcerer/?p=230320212212021203032002020000000000000220000000000000000 This next one is one I've seen played by a max level Sorcerer but slightly modified for my own playstyle to be a soloing build but with additions to be able to dps OR off heal successfully in PvP as well. The soloing bit of it shows up in the choices to take Oppressing Force and Haunting Presence. The DPS bit is evident in the sheer amount of points put into the Madness tree but still enough points are in Corruption to grab Innervate. http://torguild.net/calculator/sith-inquisitor/sorcerer/?p=232320210212001000002000000000000000003122002131201000000 However, I'm still a little worried that I'll be a tad squishier than I want to be with only one point in Sith Defiance and nothing in Life Surge like my other build has. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - Uninformed - 12-10-2011 12:36 AM I would love to get some guidance on Sorcerer vs. Assassin pvp. Now I regret not trying the Sorcerer and focusing on the Assassin. I was really enjoying the range effects of the Assassin, and particularly the ability to "choose" your moment to engage in combat through Stealth. Seems like a madness build really is only viable with the Sorcerer rather than the assassin. Is it really powerful in pvp and can you hold your own with kiting and escaping melee combat? How squishy is the sorcerer? So much to think about heh. one other question. In a madness build, what is the pvp rotation? Open with death field/creeping and start blasting away with lightning (obviously I am ignorant of the particular mechanics at the moment). Now I regret not trying the Sorcerer and focusing on the Assassin. Here is my take. I started out planning on playing an Assassin. I've played the stealth-Rogue type in every MMO since 2000/2001 lol. But something about the Sith Assassin just seemed off to me. I played it to lv17 and my impression wasnt positive. I know lv17 isnt truely fair as you are still missing abilities, but I wanted to try a Sorcerer too. I think the biggest turn off to me was stealth mechanics, people can see you in stealth from a fairly decent way away. Of course if you manage to close all the way in from behind they wont, but sometimes thats not viable. I think in World PvP an Assassin will do fine, like every MMO it seems setup to excel in that area. In Warzones I think the additional players and limited approaches will show the assassins weaknesses too often. The Sorcerer has the advantage of range, healing on demand, and absorb shields. And what made me switch from Assassin to Sorcerer was precisely what you mentioned; I found myself enjoying the range parts of the Assassin more than the melee aspects of it. Shortly after I got my Sorcerer AC I knew I had made the right choice. The Sorcerer really isn't that squishy. As long as you pre-shield and know how to get out of LOS/away from melee they hold up pretty well. The madness tree is very nice, if nothing else up to the Madness talent itself but I would recommend going up another tier for the procs from casting Force Lightning as a DPS Sorcerer. As for a rotation its just mainly about using Force Lightning for damage and the proc effect from Wrath. Short fights I'd use FL>LS as they both hit hard. Longer fights use FL to get your non instant DoT up. Death Field would depends on the fight. If you are kiting someone it wouldnt do much as its a ground based AoE, if you are fighting around a node/capture point it would be helpful. Shock is instant and easy to work in, so I left it out. You should fit it in when its off CD. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - Trident911 - 12-17-2011 10:59 PM Just recently re-rolled on a new server as a Sith Sorcerer and will be focused on PvP with her . Have been reading thread and there doesn't seem to be a 'dominate' spec as of yet for a DPS/Healing build. I know its still early days but would like to start popping points in without worrying to death I made the wrong decision haha. The two main ones I've picked up from here seem to be: http://torguild.net/calculator/sith-inquisitor/sorcerer/?p=230320212212001000002000000000000000003222002121201000000 (21/2/18) http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201GhMRrzMzZfobrzRr.1 (21/20/0) Seems like the 21 points into Corruption seem set in stone, but would like to hear from anybody who has had some more recent 'action' in the last few days of Early Access. Cheers! I was able to construct a build I like many in Madness, but if burst is better i'll respec. Have you or anyone else got a chance to test this build? How exactly would you be able to get your crit chance up to 50% for those numbers you posted to work? Most people are saying around ~20% is as high as you can go. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - Trident911 - 12-20-2011 01:22 PM Been healing more and more during Leveling and actually enjoying it. Was thinking how viable, in respect to DPS, would a dedicated healing spec be when coming up 1v1/chased down and having to defend one's self? Something along the lines of: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201GGdRbdbdGzZf00MZ0M.1 I guess one can CC until 'backup' arrives, but I always like the feeling of being able to do everything (obviously the usual 'jack of all trades, and a master of none' comes into play). Anyone found any successful 'hybrid' builds for both sustainable Healing/DPS in PvP? I've mostly been running a corruption build and been healing in PvP for the past couple of months. My build is very similar to yours with the following changes: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201GhrRbdbdGzZf0zMZ0M.1 Don't need Presence in PvP, and the extra 2% outgoing healing takes a backseat for me to full 8% incoming heals for PvP. The remaining 1 point I like to put into Exsanginate and make our 20% slow last 3 seconds longer. ![]() This build is a BEAST in a good pre-made. How do you go with throwing a bit of damage out with that build above? If someones coming RIGHT FOR YOU haha, you just CC and run, or could you kite and take someone down? Been reading up on the PvP forums, and see us healers are getting shafted when it comes to Awards in PvP, making me think we'll have to do some damage to get maximum XP/Commendations. |
