Backlash (that 19 in Lightning gives you) is great against Operatives. I linked a build with it earlier, here it is again: http://torguild.net/calculator/sith-inquisitor/sorcerer/?p=000000000000000000002312022122002000003022102131221101000 Thanks fr! Would you mind linking the 18/21/2 build that he's running with as well? I'm currently leaning 0/19/22 RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - Zeuus - 01-14-2012 01:36 AM My current plan is to run this spec 0/17/24 In lightning I chose Electric Induction because 9% off the price of all my abilities using force is pretty sweet; I also throw heals out and this helps save force. I chose Suppression because 6 secs of lockout is nuts that's a long time to wait to use the ability again, and with instant WW every 45 secs that has a stun after the effect is very nice. Electric Bindings and Backlash again for more control, I find out the more I can keep control of the enemy the better chances I have of surviving Then I picked up CL so I can use it when Wrath procs and Crushing Darkness is on CD.The Madness tree is pretty self explanatory, but I chose Haunted Dreams for the instant WW, which can be used for an interrupt, gaining distance, fleeing, etc. Deathmark for all my dots (and currently and other dot on the target,) I chose 2/2 Force Horrors because there isn't a CD on Affliction so I can spam that on most targets and with the Exsanguinate increasing the time by 6 secs an extra 15% in dmg makes that spell beautiful. And last I chose 1/2 Lingering Nightmares because I use Crushing Darkness on CD, so an extra tick is more dmg. Now for what I didn't choose, I didn't choose Lightning Storm because I rarely use lightning strike, so having that %30 chance on something I don't use isn't very useful to me. Lightning Barrage is a great talent, unfortunately I don't see the benefit of taking that talent over others for how I play. Chain Shock is another nice talent, but again I don't use shock as much so that %chance to get another just isn't worth it to me. Now the only question I have for my spec, would 2/2 reserves and 1/3 Electric Induction be a better choice? I haven't done the math, and have not seen a post about this, but other than that this would be my build. First, it rounds up the cost to the next integer after the 0.91 modifier, meaning you actually get between 6 and 8% on most abilities. Also, with Sith Efficacy, force is not an issue, even for most protracted fights. The only way you really run out of force with this build is if you're spamming CL on cooldown or spending the majority of your time healing. In the former case, you probably don't need to, AoE fights rarely last that long, and in the latter, this isn't a healing build. If you want to heal, go 21/2/18. On that note, Reserves will do more for you than Electric Induction ever will, particularly in PvP. 9% cost reduction versus 20% increase force pool. See now why the former makes little sense? Lightning Spire is really just filler, but it's handy. Lightning Barrage provides more damage and burst than most of the T5 Madness talents, provided you're actually keeping Affliction up (and if you aren't, Force Horrors is useless!). You can double-dip on the proc if you spam FL during the channel, giving you rather ridiculous burst on the proc. Even if you don't, it's a seemless boost to your damage, since you'll be spamming FL anyway. Sith Defiance is very weak. You'll get more mileage out of Corrupted Flesh or Oppressing Force. While 9% off force sounds nice, it doesn't work on Barrier (you should cast it a lot) and some of the DoTs. It is better to get Reserves, since it gives you more Force in case you need it for long battles and allows you to keep going longer than 9% off some spells. Since you say you cast Affliction a lot you want Barrage, it is a large dps increasing talent (about 4% more dps in PvE). Casting faster is important in PvP so you get the damage fast and not get interrupted. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - Uninformed - 01-14-2012 02:18 AM Does anyone use a heavy Madness build? I am very curious about the 13/28 users and how much additional damage they dish out in pvp. All the loss of mobility (no Backlash, and loss of 10 sec FS boost or Bindings) makes the shudder. Those abilities are almost required. Having said that, I can only imagine what the added Death Field and DOT damage would be like..... sigh. I'd recommend 0/19/22. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - frmorrison - 01-14-2012 04:20 AM Your 17/24 is better, I am not sure Parasitism is better than Corrupted Flesh for PvP, I would get 2/2 Flesh. With at least 18 in Madness, you always want Suppression to get more Whirlwinds. http://torguild.net/calculator/sith-inquisitor/sorcerer/?p=230320210212000000002310220122122001000020000000000000000 is the 18/21/2 build that someone else told me they love. 20% haste from Shift seems great when you need burst healing/dps but I don't think it is the build for me. Instant Whirlwind is too powerful and Lightning Strike is too weak. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - Lord_Indomitus - 01-14-2012 08:10 PM Has anyone tested if empty body (+4/8% healing received corruption talent) increases the healing from Crushing Darkness (2set bonus force master), DoT crits, etc when using a full madness PvP build? I was running such a spec with great success since ever, but never thought to test due to the frenzy of reaching battlemaster, etc. Now I have speced for PvP healing, still curious. RE: Sith Sorcerer PvP Builds - amigosalsa - 01-15-2012 04:27 AM im playing 7 / 18 / 16 atm, its quite versatile due added ccs from the lightning spec, here is the link to the spec and a this is a link to a video to see this spec in action. share your thoughts pls |
