I want to throw out some info, since I have access to beta now.

-Base regen is 8 per second, and there is no bonus for being a shadow anymore. If you get the 30% regen talent in tank tree you are at about 10.4 force regen per second.

-The tier 1 talent in the stealth tree which gives u a damage boost and regen for 6 seconds out of stealth is a must have for all builds. It is really good.

-The tier 2 talent in the stealth tree now increases your movement speed by 15% permanently, both in and out of stealth.

-Tier 1 talents in the shared tree are slightly changed. there is a 1/2% damage resistance talent, and a 4%/8% talent for buffing force breach, and finally the 3 point talent for boosting melee crit by 9% after getting a force crit.

You mean Jedi Consular has 8 regen per second by default?

ya

Shadow used to get a skill that gave +3 regen bonus but it no longer seems to exist.

I'm not sure, however this is best asked over in the tankasin forum as they have an excellent knowledge base.

Hmm I'll defeintely be looking to go Darkness/Deception now. 15% movement speed increase is invaluable for PvP and with the reduction in natural force regen BoTS is just too good to go past imo. Not to mention Darkswell, Induction and Deceptive Power being excellent as well.

I'll look for a build like this I think

MAdness doesn't look as good as it used to with the recent changes imo.

Exploitive strike is still really nice in Madness tree, and as it is T1 I would really get it.
Altho I don't know if harnessed darkness is better then exploitive strikes.

RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Sol - 10-08-2011 12:27 AM

Yes I agree Exploitive strikes is a great talent, however I'm taking 2 things into consideration.

1 - will an extra 10% crit chance for 150% damage outweigh a FL that has a 75% damage buff for a normal attack. Also how much damage will FL under 3 stacks do on a crit?? This could mean a hell of a lot of burst, not to mention that it will also heal a small amount.

2 - It's interruptible and makes you immune to push backs. This makes it guaranteed damage and is also great for hutball situations where people will try top knock you off ledges if timed right.

It will come down to testing but I'm willing to place my bet on Hardened Darkness as I generally think that burst > all for PvP as it creates chaotic situations. Yes it doesn't always turn out better for you but as a general rule I think it wins out especially when timed correctly during a stun.

I'll definitely be trying both out though that's for sure before making a decision.

No, no. Read it carefully. The talent indicates that the **ability itself** is immune to pushback, not you.

You're confusing spell pushback with getting knocked down by an enemy ability. Spell pushback means, upon being hit by enemy damage, the casting time of a spell with a cast time is lengthened, or the duration of a channeled spell is shortened.

I would wager quite a bit you can still be knocked down, or pushed or pulled, while casting it.

RE: Sith Assassin PvP - guardian17 - 10-08-2011 08:24 AM

They nerfed the tier 6 talent in the tank tree which buffs force lightning/tele throw. It now gains stacks through project/shock only, not through direct damage, and after 3 stacks it heals for .5% health per tick.

True, I was reading it as if you're uninterruptable, than you were immune to ALL forms of interrupts, including knock backs etc whilst casting FL under the buff. I'm willing to bet that you're right though after a second look.

Even with this nerf it still doesn't change my position on the talent being very usefull, as with good RNG you could easily Thrash > Shock > Thrash > Shock > Thrash > Shock > FL. Yes this is a best case scenario, however FL is going to hit like an absolute truck at that point. Plus, I like FL for the snare and would be using it regardless of this talent to hang up my opponents while stuff came of CD or help arrived.

I advise wearing pvp damage based gear for warzones, not defense gear. Regardless of spec.
