RE: Sith Assassin PvP - scarybadman - 02-12-2012 05:14 AM Im trying 31 points but i cant decide if darkness or deception is better yet with it. I do have 2 points in dark embrace that ive committed to so far the rest i havent figured out. I keep trying to get a couple days in a row of warzones but end up going back to tank for pve and it keeps me from really getting alot of time to try it out. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - trapstar - 02-12-2012 05:32 AM Madness seems very good. I went 31 pts, got maul and the force speed/cloak CD reduction. I'm in half pve tank gear and the rest T1 pvp, and still seem to get 300k damage pretty regularly. Damage seems high, burst isn't the best but I can usually kill a healer using my cd's and interrupts. I have trouble with mercs and bursty melee classes. Kiting works to an extent with melee. I can't imagine not going 31 points. You'll be using lightning charge so the 10pt talents are bad. And the 2 second snare/dot that goes through resolve is awesome. The highest I've gotten is 12 medals ATM, but that's using aoe taunt (which should be used on CD) and the water heal. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - scarybadman - 02-13-2012 02:15 PM I have also found i get more medals as madness then dark and decep on a regular basis. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Codyksp - 02-14-2012 09:40 AM I still haven't seen anyone answer with a direct yes or no whether a shield generator is worth using, currently I am running full pvp dps gear but I am not sure if the absorb is worth it. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Maulfire - 02-15-2012 09:11 AM My PvP rotation and ability priority has changed a bit since 1.1.2 and I figured I would share what I use along with other observations. Keep in mind I don’t have any hard #’s to go along with this at the moment. I am running the 31/0/10 spec. Single Target – Wither > Shock > Thrash > Thrash > Shock > Force Lightning (HD) rinse repeat. Will refresh Dark Ward when needed and will Discharge to debuff acc if I’m going up against someone I think is more difficult to beat. Will also pop recklessness for Force Lightning whenever its available. Multiple Target – Wither > Shock > Discharge > Thrash > Thrash > Shock/Wither > Force Lightning (HD) Multi Target isn’t much different; I just make sure I toss discharge up all the time on groups while focusing my single target abilities on the ball carrier or a healer to harass them. Priority Assassinate > Force Lightning (HD) > Wither > Shock > Discharge > Thrash (only use thrash to proc shock) Will prioritize Force Lightning (HD) over Assassinate if i'm under 30-40% health. Keep in mind to play Darkness well you should be rotating guard when needed and taunting whenever it’s available to help reduce the other team’s damage output, and these rotations don’t take that into account. After the changes and using this priority I have gone into warzones and generally average 150k-200k damage (best being 297k), 50-100k protection, and 50-75k heals (minus the heals from shock frozen water). I feel I can 1v1 almost any class at the moment and my survivability is through the roof. I am at 640 expertise with almost all champ gear (boots still cent). The only classes I have problems with at the moment are GOOD Battlemaster geared marauders/sentinals and good healers (burst isn’t good enough). Some small details I'd throw in... Shock on cooldown is more important than fishing for Energize procs. Saber Strike if the cooldown is coming up but you're short on Force, even if you have enough to Thrash. Wither is a significant debuff, but it's not great for raw damage. No need to refresh on cooldown. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Maulfire - 02-16-2012 04:39 AM Yea I missed alot of those raw details, but with wither I tend to use it when i'm in a close fight to get another stack of HD. But you may be right about Shock being more important that Wither its just to me both shock and wither are a means to an end, that end being 3 stacks of HD for Force Lightning. So would you think something more like this for a priority, Assasinate > Force Lightning (HD) > Shock > Wither > Thrash (if Shock, Wither, and Assassinate are on cd) > Saber Strike (if force low and shock/wither are not on cd) RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Neokarasu - 02-16-2012 04:49 AM (02-14-2012 09:40 AM)Codyksp Wrote: I still haven't seen anyone answer with a direct yes or no whether a shield generator is worth using, currently I am running full pvp dps gear but I am not sure if the absorb is worth it. Shield is worth using if you're in Dark Charge and is actively using Dark Ward. Otherwise, no. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Brosephz - 02-22-2012 05:24 PM So the general consensus is darkness is the best PvP spec? Also are you guys running darkness in dps gear or tank gear? I've tried at least 7 different specs today and none have provided me with exactly what I was looking for so I'm kind of looking for some guidance. BTW I am in mostly BM/Champ gear, up until the recent nerf to the hybrid madness spec that was what I was running. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Neokarasu - 02-23-2012 12:24 AM "Best" is subjective. A variation of Darkness makes it easy to get more medals due to protection + possible healing medals (via HD), but other specs can use timely taunts to get protection also. Darkness also has more survivability but you give up a bit of burst for it (I don't think I can ever get 5k hits even with stacking CDs. This is with full Stalker gear except Shield). So if you feel that Darkness fits your playstyle the best, then it is the best spec for you. |
