RE: Sith Assassin PvP - ryphez - 02-04-2012 05:29 AM So I take it with the upcoming nerf to hybrid builds, the preferred pvp build will become 31/0/10 instead of the 23/0/18 build? RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Maulfire - 02-04-2012 06:30 AM Pretty much the way it seems, though 27/0/14 could still be usable but Wither is in my opinion better than Death Field at the moment. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - scarybadman - 02-04-2012 08:40 AM I just like the spammability of wither over deathield. Plus when you get whither youve already invested in every buff to it where deathfield to max the ability to its full potential your still 3 or 4 talent points short. I still feel for me that the 31/2/8 build is stronger since u spend so much time in stealth getting off more specials when u open up on someone to me is golden. Then being able to force a trinket get someone to 30/25% hp force cloak get the dark embrace proc use a spike out of stealth and go for a kill with 50% more regen makes it more likely they die from a special then funbling to kill someone with saber strike. Another benefit to wither is very basic. Every abilities usefullness comes down to what it offers on each use. Dps is guaged by what it does compared to its cost each moment and the same goes with healing spells. If thats the case then wither offers alot more per use especially after patch then it does now. Whither is instant requires you target and goes off inside the gcd procing damage, debuff and proc effect (after patch if notes stick) while deathfield cannot be used as fast as whither since it requires you to press your mouse twice rather then once and offers good damage and ok healing. Deathfield does have a 30 yrd range but we spend the entire fight being kited neway so your always chasing people so at best they get 5 10 yeard gaps otherwise they are slowed or cced. I dont know about you guys but no ones gotten 30 yards on me ever that i am focused on. Even if they are low on hp and cc me a good player will immediately engage you or get a little space heal/recup whatever since wasting the time your in cc running away and then being brought in with force grip. There is no way to run from us unless we decide to top chasing or die. Thats what whither shines at perma slowin enemies with a debuff longer then the cd. Plus with snares/slows not affecting the resolve meter were not punished and can use or other cc like intended to stop their dps/heals so we can do more to them then they can to us. Anyway what assassin isnt begging to use force lightning with recklessness anyway im hoping my 3 stack heals me up and lands the KB lol of they decide to run away. Lol how bad is that. A spec dead because two talent points wont be usefull from it. While the real bread and butter utility from it is thrown away. Buffs to maul, stealth regen, interupt, cc break, speed, stealth, energy cap all useless now somehow because of induction. Again a game with talents that would be mandatory almost in a arena setting deemed useless in a game without arena. Now i can see without raze and a buff to whither how speccing into madness deep with darkness will be a tuff pill to swallow. I dont think that people using the deception hybrid will be hit as hard since you gain so much utility in the first couple teirs of deception. Playing dark/decp is more of a control and anti kite spec. While dark/mad compared to 31 darkness currently on live is def a coin toss as to what is better both have positives and negatives and come down to personal preference. Also now i think the new FOTM hybrid might be a deception spec with suging charge up to low slash teir with the rest in darkness for a spec that will be very easy to spam abilities or if you dont go into darkness you can go into madness and have a 30 yrd ability and insta WW. Well see the community is always creative and figures out ways to make things work. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - trapstar - 02-07-2012 11:45 AM A few questions about the best way to gear up as 31/0/10 -Is dark ward / a shield generator even worth using? -The best relics are power and crit/surge? -Regarding the rest of the gear slots, I understand that defensive stats are pretty useless, besides endurance. However, I assume that the built in armoring for tank gear has more +end, and the set bonuses are pretty nice. Does anyone know the optimal pieces for pvp right now (in ideal conditions with all gear and mods available of course)? One more thing.. I see the utility that comes from spike and force pull, but since dark ward is so bad in pvp, I'm failing to see how desception is so much worse/squishier, besides 5sec shroud which desception can pick up too.. I know players did tests that show defensive stats aren't as good in PvP as one would naturally assume, which would seem like a big problem for Darkness. But I can tell you from experience that after I got some dps gear, I've had zero problems as Darkness. Even against Battlemasters (and I realize that titles don't necessarily equate to skill) and the most infamous players on my server, I have total confidence I can come out on top. I'm not worried even if they catch me out of stealth and at 50% hp. Seeing how dps Shadows/Assassins operate, I feel no spec envy at all. I can't tell you what it is (I know it isn't skill) but even though theoretically Darkness is only good for Guard, from my experience it performs very well even by itself. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - scarybadman - 02-08-2012 03:15 AM I agree and really all our specs perform well in pvp just in different enviroments. Darkness is def the run in guns ablazing(lighsabers swinging) taking and dishing out hits. Deception scratches my itch when i want to hide in the shadows and pop out to burst down players who are at 50% hp and then disappear or go and mess with people leveling or out in ilum or questing etc. Madness is def something kinda falls in a weird spot but it does have control and sustained damage and ive personally enjoyed it more when having a friend around to back me up and back them up and really until it was nerfed going dark/mad hybrid was awesome. Now i feel like with the hybrid dying or atleast looking like it is well see more people committed to dark or decep i need to try and see if madness will be as fun to me. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - Alratan - 02-08-2012 04:05 AM I have deleted a number of threads for complaining about patch changes rather than discussing them in a helpful manner. Please remember that whilst Bioware's changes may be annoying, it's not particularly productive to go on at length about it, nor is it terribly interesting to read. RE: Sith Assassin PvP - pinktees - 02-08-2012 10:17 AM Anyone else try out madness post patch and kinda loving it? RE: Sith Assassin PvP - scarybadman - 02-08-2012 10:34 AM Not yet but going to mess around this week. What are your impressions so far, and what spec did you go with? I would thinking going full 31 would be worth it for maximum dottage (making up words) and I could see how there would be benefits in both Darkness or Deception. |
